As far as I can remember, I remember a medium length negative period, a short positive period, and a very realistic and - dare I say - "apathetic" feel in between both of those.

Not that any of that is bad, just my observations. You have a really realistic outlook on things and the world around you. I know you were struggling with some stuff before, but it has certainly made you a stronger person since :]

I can't remember any specific time frames, but thats how I remember much of your postings here.

I saw the title and thought "oh no, he wants to start a family or thinks he may have started a family."

PMS, Seasonal depression, PTSD, Bipolar, manic depression are the things that come to mind.

In literature men don't get PMS, but I wager they do experience a gender specific form of it that doesn't involve blood loss, or cramps. Manic Depression doesn't quite fit. The others do. Somewhat.

(It would help if I didn't confuse you with Oisterboy and Ronin)

    Pre Post EDIT:
I stand by this after seeing your second post in this thread

Probably stressed out, but I somewhat recall you being a bit more negative.

You've definable had your negative and positive lengths of time, but IMO no where near what classifies as Manic Depression.

I suggest going to see another therapist. A huge problem in the field right now (something that has led to a lot of criticism) is the fact that more and more psychologists and psychiatrists are "jumping the gun" a little and immediately prescribing medicine for something that is very simple.

I'm currently in school to be a psychiatrist and one thing I've found out is that more and more people in the field are attributing very minute changes in behavior as a kind of disorder.

My advice is to go see a professional psychiatrist (if you can afford it) who can do multiple tests (i.e. brain scans) to see if there are any irregularities. These scans are a lot more effective since they're based on hard evidence. There are certain parts in your brain that will fire abnormally if you are Manic Depressive and then they'll be able to tell.

The only real way to find out which electroshock therapy can cure you is doing brain scans.

    I would not
