Default Can I use this CPU in this computer?

I want to use this CPU:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103727

    In this desktop:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...BF2011_listing

I already have the CPU after coming to realize it wasn't compatible with my current computer after I bought it like a ******. I'm having trouble finding information online about its compatibility and was hoping someone could halp.

If you're going to buy the premade tower, then why are you going to downgrade that? Sure, it's processing is a bit faster, but come on, 4 cores vs 6 cores.

In any case, you might as well get a different mobo if you want the same computer.

Clock on that stock CPU is low and locked, so it's better. I don't see why OP is getting the 965 over the 955, no difference really.

    Pointless switch to be honest.

If you have an AM2+ mobo, you might be able to flash the BIOS and make it compatible.

why you want to downgrade the CPU to 4 core when you have 6 core processor

    Oh my, let me clarify.

I had originally bought the CPU for my current computer, as it would have been an upgrade. Problem is it's not compatible with it.

Yes, for this new computer, there would be no reason to buy it, but the thing is I already have it and can't return it.

The other thing is the speed on each clock is faster, something that is a priority for gaming, as many games can only utilize two cores. I don't need 6 processors, I need something that runs games well.

So anyways, I just want to be certain this CPU will work properly when put into the new desktop, as I've read (and now experienced) there can be compatibility issues with pre-made computers getting upgrades.

Again, I see no point in buying the computer itself unless your own rig is outdated. Even so I'd just go with a new mobo.

I've considered doing this, but a computer is only as good as it's weakest component. So while I could replace the mobo (and also my ram which isn't DDR3, and my power supply which is lacking) to be able to even use the cpu, I'm thinking I might be better off with something new where all aspects of my current computer are basically doubled and for a great price.

Genius. He already knows what he has to upgrade.

@Elion, If you want to have a cheaper solution, pm Snow, Trey or me. We could help you build one. In the end it's cheaper and better to be honest.

Depending on the use, such as media, you might get a cheap mobo (45$) and ram (kingston, 20$ for 4GB).

You could resell the CPU to someone if you don't want to buy new stuff or keep it as a backup in case the 1065T fails.
