    Default Any "social" mmorpgs left?

Hi, I'd like to clarify that by "social" I'm not only referring to games such as second life or habbo hotel. I'm meaning games where it is meant to be played with other people while actively talking with one another.

I know it seems very odd, but I've noticed a trend of mmos becoming much less social friendly. Like in DCUO, there's no chat bubbles, so you have to stare at the chat box to tell what is going on, and 95% of the game's content can be soloed (before endgame), and when doing alerts you don't need to speak a word to your teammates. It's like your playing with AI henchmen.

So I'd like to know if there are any more mmo's alive with a decent community where it's fun and encouraged to play together? Games that come to mind for me is: Anarchy Online, Pre-WoTLK World of Warcraft, and Ragnarok Online. There's more I think, but I can't recall them all.

Both Final Fantasies could fit what you want. Also a lot of the older games are more community driven just due to age.

FFXI, it doesn't require you to be in a team to level depending on your class however...it takes a long time to level solo lol it's way better in team. Though nowadays it's more about just powering to cap instead of doing the storyline etc. so it's less 'social' nowadays but it is closer than other games for the most part. The community can vary from server to server drastically...on my server (bahamut I think) the community was very good and I had a great LS I joined. Lots of older gamers.

Lineage 2 is a bit like that as well, and it's free nowadays with no catch to it. New expansion in 2 days as well, but it's almost required to level with people in that game so it sounds like what your looking for. I haven't experienced enough of the community in this game but from what I did experience everyone was really nice and helped me out a lot.

Also I doubt you'd want to play it but the old EQ is pretty social, eq2 is as well. You can queue for dungeons now on there but people are actually pretty nice in general on there so it's a lot more fun than queueing on...other games.

I haven't played Lucent Heart personally but I've heard it has a system in place to set you up on a date. Doesn't get much more social than that.

You're basically stuck with older games.

Almost every cutesy/anime MMORPG is "social". Eden Eternal for example is full of people willing to chat and even though you don't really need to communicate that much during dungeon rungs, people are pretty chatty.

Mabinogi is also pretty social (borderline drama though).

    Huh... And... huh.

Mabinogi, Lucent Heart, Eden Eternal, and Lime Odyssey if you know how to make an account there.
