When you put it that way.. Kinda is really, atleast for the lower level portion, can't speak on behalf of most ripoffs endgame.. But the bag systems i've never enjoyed in 9/10 f2p mmo's, as little as something like that is, it's a real turn off for me..

Fair enough I guess, although playing through 1-20 is my most hated of all experiences in WoW, questing is slow having to walk around everywhere, classes are imbalanced which makes pvp even worse, not to mention BoA on every 2nd person with many decked in it...
If I played the starter edition without having any friends played/playing WoW or knowning anything about it, it would really deter me from paying, even going as far as not trying it again. Without a doubt the 1-20 is the worst experience in the game, except maybe questing in Northrend...
EDIT: Olaph, have you done PvP in the 15-19 and 20-24 brackets? It's horrible, without BoA casters get demolished since they are missing many of their important spells... Warriors don't even have any slowing or cc at all till 26 unless you choose fury and spam the aoe slow w/e it's called, no in combat charge, no intercept leaves them vulnerable to any ranged.
Hunters demolish since their pets are almost another person, they do as much dps as an ungeared person of equal level.
Also you can't trade at all, so no powerful enchants, a 10g limit and the fact that BoA is slightly more powerful than an equal level blue WITHOUT the enchants.

Pvp from 10 to around the late 30's are owned by hunters. No fun till that phase ends. Well, unless you are one of those millions of hunters going "lmao i am so pro *pew pew pew*"

It's just a mindset you are playing the game with. If you wouldn't know it's WoW and would be completely unaware what kind of a game is it you would have much more different thoughts.
It's the "oh it's WoW, most successful online game that has ever existed + the awesome blizzard company. The game has to be good!"

its a endless trial no need to complain that u dont get what others pay for. you should be happy u get to even do bgs and get to play to lvl 20 FOR FREE. cmon son keep it real PVP isn't/never was never will be balanced at low lvls everyone should know that by now. boa's are more powerful cuz you know the ppl that paid for the game and put in the time to get those "slightly more powerful" boa items they aren't given to them for "FREE" gotta put actual time and work to get em.i bet u in that little trial with all those restrictions, u get better content,gameplay then most f2p games out now. be happyOriginally Posted by mattychew

PvP was infact somewhat balanced before BoA came along, there were *****s yeh but usually an equal amount on each side, you could even have some decent fights back when people were decked in greens and the rare blue, BoA just gave everyone a way to do rediculas damage with stats that just shouldn't be able to be aquired at that level..
I will complain about BoA because it's completely unnecessary, you level up fast enough as it is without BoA and are powerful enough as it is.. Horrible items should never have come to the game..
On topic : It just feels dirty to play a ripoff :S

The free trail is not the best, mostly because of the low level imbalance, especially PvP imbalance, where Matty already pointed, Hunters being dominant and rogues to some extent, especially on clothers.
I don't think the BoA did much of imbalance, but rather the Cataclysm fail PvP balance brought by the dev. team and as well the talent changes and health pool which was drastically increased.
The previous expansions were far more balanced, especially WotLK, I find WotLK to be the most balanced of all.
However, the only reason I played WoW was only because the movement and animations were so smooth, so fluent that no game have achieved that level of smoothness. I may say I was impressed with the smoothness level of Final Fantasy as well, but, I'm not playing it at the momen.
Don't need to read the story since I knew mostly from the wc1/2/3 and rarely who here is focusing on the story much.

The only fun thing about starter edition WoW are the battlegrounds. In the US there is even a community centered around this.

It's true that hunters dominate at a somewhat higher level than average, but they are not the only driving force in the lvl20 battlegrounds. There are also rogues, paladins, priests. It is not impossible for any class to become competent.
