    Default Blizzcon 2012 canceled

Pretty upsetting and just pushes me more into hating everything about blizzard, it was one of the few things i still liked about blizzard and felt like it was one of the last things that they actually did for their fans and not to make a profit (pro tip blizzcon every year is a loss of money)

anyways their reason is that their schedule is too "full" for their fans.

a thread on the forums about it:

what is every ones thoughts on this? personally it doesn't surprise me ever since the activision blizzard merge it seems as if every year they become more and more greedy, yes i understand they are a company but every single bit of their success is based on how open they were with the community in their early days, hell starcraft is only popular because of its esport reputation, if it wasn't for esports starcaft 2 probably wouldn't even exist, personally i don't plan to buy diablo 3 mainly due to a lost of interest or mist of pandaria (which is a pretty big deal for me seeing as my account has every collectors edition of wow)

i always thought i was dumb for them to have these conventions when they release a game every 5 years excluding expansions, tbh i dont blame them

The swag you can get from it is pretty nice. Things like mounts and early access keys are awesome. But I would never personally go just to see what games they have in the works.

I use to be a total Blizzard fanboy. In a way, I still am--I admire the company, but I think it's gone astray from what made it great.

Activision has that effect on everything, however I am not immature enough to get "mad" at a company for not holding a convention I was even mildly interested in, I like Blizzard for their games, anything else they do is merely a bonus and should be seen as such.

I probably cannot go this year either -- but I was looking forward to the costume contest again. Sad. I was starting to get used to how Blizzard has become a cultural leader and conventioneer. I'll have to live with the three zillion other video game conventions instead.

Perhaps they were afraid the pandas would eat the geeks.

It was posted on the forums that they were going to focus on the 3 titles that they're coming out with within the near future. Diablo 3, Mist of Pandaria expansion, and they're still working on Titan.

They're moving SC2 & WOW Arena Tournament to Asia for Battle.net World Championships. This wasn't the first time that they canceled Blizzcon so it's not the end of the company or the world. Activision has nothing to do with it.

    So get over it.
