You should learn Swedish instead, 70% similar to English and Sweden is ridiculously kind(seriously easily one of the best countries).
German is similar to Swedish as well, wasn't that hard when I was studying it, not that I remember anything now as I didn't really intend on learning the language for anything other than a grade.
