    12 Hours of gaming Tera.

    Level 22 Slayer.

I find it boring and almost all the quest are the same. Do this do that.. when dungeons start to kick in. it just feels like Rift / WoW all over again.

The only thing different is Combat Control. i like the CHANGE . but storyline is too boring.

NO OFFENCE to the fans of Tera. it just feels like another same game to me >_>

Gonna play kRO2 (22nd feb grand start). legend of the second and relive RAGNAROK again. love the cute songs. and waiting for Archeage Open beta

RO2 lol, good luck that game will never be as good as the original. I don't see why the story matters so much when you're playing TERA, they boast GAMEPLAY not LORE.

It's the GAMEPLAY that keeps people here, not the story in-game (although some DO enjoy it )... I'm just saying if you signed up for TERA without the mindset to play merely for the actual combat style then you picked the wrong reasons. They won e3 awards for gameplay, not story.

Well the beta just ended and I found it very fun. I made a lancer and hit cap with my friends and we hunted some BAMs before it went down. Very enjoyable and will be playing the second closed beta. Does anyone know if characters are saved if you bought the game?

yes if you pre-ordered you won't be wiped until after the end of the last cbt

still deciding if I want to pre-order, hopefully they don't wipe until before the next cbt starts so I have some more time to decide

capped a warrior and a priest. I love the fast low cd aoe combos with priest, makes questing crazy fast

Alright, thanks for clearing it up. I don't really see much of a point keeping your character if they're going to wipe it in the end. Yes, chances are they will raise the level cap so you can continue, but it also gives you a change to reroll into a new class and try out new races.

    My 2 cents.

Made it to LV20 on my Popori Slayer.
I'll admit: I'm starting to warm up to the game's combat now when I gained access to a few more skills and chaining combinations. The extra skills gave the combat a bit more flow to it, but still feels clunky overall.

I posted a play log on my blog for anyone that cares.

Loving the game, definatly going to play it. Preordered it already together with my gf.

Tried out slayer and archer, think I enjoy the archer a bit more but the slayer is strong. Not sure which has an edge in pvp but guess it doesnt matter much if it comes down to some skill+gear+level in the end

In defense of the game, slayer is 1 of the slowest classes in game along side the berserker, i think that contributes a lot to your feeling of clunkyness.

I have played both a slayer to 22 and a warrior to 22, the warrior shares a similar mindset of playing, dodging a lot, get some hits in, dodge some more, find openings, etc.

But the warrior is at least 2 or 3 faster then my slayer was and feels a lot smoother to play, they both have more or less the same gear, my warrior had a bit better gear offensively, but nothing that would alter the attack speed.

I definitely do recommend trying 1 of the faster classes, cause they do give a whole different experience to the game, even if the core mechanic of dodging is the same, the feel of the class is definitely not. Neither are the tactics used to find openings on BAM's and so on.

That said, even though i do not play the NA version but the EU, i personally <3 the game, have leveled a warrior and slayer to 22 so far, and got a berserker to 18, i missed the dodge mechanic on the berserker, but you get insanely power full hits in return.

Maybe the game is not fully worth p2ping, cause it has some obvious flaws, and generic quests and what not, but i have stopped looking for "innovation" in mmo quests since long ago, so this refreshing combat system to me is definitely worth the p2p.

Look at Skyrim, its not a MMO, but hell I played that game to lv 60, so did many other people too, the combat is not as engaging as Tera yet it hold my interest for a very long time, I still play it.

MOD tools were released like 1 week ago, the game will have so much contest soon, it be more amazing.

You see game dosnt have to be the Generic/Clone grinder, even the most simple things will do to hold interest.

seriously though, it looks like the emergence of WoW into the world of MMOs changed the way gamers view and play this genre.

I mean...before WoW even came out, we had so many classic mmo games that people loved~ (Everquest, Ultima, DAoC, etc...)

now that the user-friendliness and casual-oriented game WoW is "thriving" after 4 years and counting...more and more "non-gamers" are delving into MMOs for the first time.

Most first timers play WoW as their first MMO, and they base their opinions and judgements of other subsequent games they play on that.

like really...even if a game successfully advertises with good trailers and/or teasers, it eventually faces criticism and comparison to WoW (every game....really~)

too many "young generation" setting WoW as the standard to all future MMOs...it's aggravating.

I'm still rolling on the PvP server~ I like the challenge of having to be on the lookout for aggroing not just monsters, but also potential griefers.
I do have a pre-arranged party of friends/guildies set up, but I still find PKing systems to be a pure annoyance. I know from personal experience that one PK can ignite a week's worth of pointless drama, guild rage quits, and emotional outbursts. After experiencing it once, I never want to deal with it again. KOS lists, server-wide arguments, all that stupid crap.

I don't have anything against people who enjoy unrestrained PvP and spontaneous challenges, but I do have something against people who abuse systems in a way that ruins a game for others. Playing on a PvP server doesn't necessarily mean that a player wants to get their balls handed to them as soon as they exit town. I would make suggestions such as "PK only available within 5-10 level gap" or "can only kill the same person 3 times a day (account-wide)," but then it basically wouldn't be PK anymore.

Since I'm given the option to avoid it by playing a PvE server, I will gladly make that choice. I play MMORPGs for the PvE aspect. I play games like LoL (and GunZ 2 in the future, assuming we get it) when I'm itching for PvP.

My 2 cents and a bag of tater chips.

I dont think its unbalanced at all even tho im mystic and getting owned by the same warrior for like 4 times in a row but the more i fight him the more i lower his hp down, hes 1 lvl higher than me as well, and sometimes i forgot to blink etc. therefore loses, and i find it sweet with outlaw, it all depend on how you use your skill, right timing etc.

so far on jagged pvp server no one complain on area chat about it yet even tho were getting own by a group of 27 running around killing everyone Lol,
