Default PCGamer Versus OnRPG/MMOHut- Tribes Ascend

So tomorrow around 1pm PST (10pm CET I believe) OnRPG is joining with MMOHut to take on the endless Britishness of PCGamer. See Below

Now the chances of our rag tag bunch taking down a well oiled machine like that is slim. Especially since I'm playing Tribes for the first time tonight. If anyone has experience at this game and can give me some helpful tips, I'm all ears.

Their fingers looking like they could be overflowing with dexterity. So...

Swift as a deer. Quiet as a shadow. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Quick as a snake. Calm as still water. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Strong as a bear. Fierce as a wolverine. Fear cuts deeper than swords. The man who fears losing has already lost. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Fear cuts deeper than swords. Fear cuts deeper than swords.

Lol seriously I know nothing about the game but I hope you guys have fun.

Ski alot, ski like you're in the damn Olympics going for the gold. I mostly play CTF, if you guys are playing that, watch out for the fields that one class puts up and if you got someone standing exactly on the flag just fly at the very top of their head and you can nab the flag, make sure you are going pretty fast too, atleast like 150.

The first path finder nade makes the enemy drop your flag, so if your playing path finder don't forget about those things, very useful.

Get the biggest, heaviest class and just sit on your flag stand... Shoot anyone that comes near.... Youlll pretty much piss alot of people off!

I've played FPS games quite a bit but I'm pretty sure our team consists mostly of strategy and MMO players. Should still be fun though.

What class are you planning to play as? Lights are good at capping and chasing, heavies are good for crowd control and defense, while mediums are all around.

I usually play as pathfinder, but my capping skills were less than adequate... until a few hours ago when I actually started practicing a bit. Someone gave me a few tips saying that shunting myself with a nade blast or a Spinfuser shot is a good way to pick up speed at the cost of some health. This tip helped me so damn much and now I'm grabbing around 180 sanics.

The current metagame calls for 1 sniper, 2 light offense, 3 heavy defense and two cappers. If we're playing with a team of eight, it would probably be a good idea to fill in these positions.

I think we did alright with barely any experience on the game. As we progressed through the series our plays got better and I feel we actually did good near the end of the last match. I think if we played that way the whole series we might have been a bit of a challenge for PCGamer.

I really want to face them again but this time with a game familiar to our team. LoL or Dota 2 sounds good.

I would like to see that. LoL, DotA 2, or HoN.

Really need to do a series where each side alternates picking the game! Then have it be best of 7, or something.

Well, that was fun. Let us never speak of this again.

Also, as the one who suggested the LoL match on their stream, I would love to have that rematch happen.

Tribes takes endless dedication to reach an acceptable level of skill. The #1 thing I tell everybody who wants to learn Tribes this:

Practice with the Spinfusor in deathmatch. Over, and over and over again.

Wrong, you can hit eachother in the air. Just need to get good. Compare this with UT? Seriously, you cant compare this with any other game. Then Tribes itself. To much fail, unless troll post. Then it could be improved alot.
