How well does Lineage 2 run?

So I'm thinking of playing it until NA Aion goes F2P or longer if it proves to be better. That said, I remember seeing someone mention that L2's engine runs like crap or the game's badly optimized so that it lags even on a good computer/connection.

Is there any truth to this?

By the way, I'm playing on a laptop but below are my specs.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHZ
RAM: 6.00 GB
Graphics: Radeon (TM) HD 6770M

On a related note, can anyone familiar with Aion tell me if my laptop's good enough to play it? I'd like to play on "medium" graphics settings at the very least.

Horrible. Game is poorly optimized.

Yes it is badly optimized and everything, but it should run fine on a modern pc, the game is quite old.

Alright thanks guys. I already asked this in the Lineage 2 thread, but that was a long time ago and I was hoping to get an up to date opinion on class class to and server to pick. I'm thinking of rolling either:

Human or Elf
Archer, Rogue, or Warrior

Any recommendations? I just don't want to roll a gimped class by mistake.

Just wanted to say that after trying both games it's rather surprising that Aion works better on high settings than Lineage II did on medium.

Sure is terrible optimization. :/

If you can run Lineage II without any issues I'm more than sure you can run Aion in medium-high settings.

i got 1,6GHz core 2 duo with 1Gb RAM and 945GM intel chip laptop >_>

for me L2 USED TO run just fine a few years ago but since they have upgraded a bit.... Logged onto main server with minimal graphics details 30~ people at spawn point

result: FPS was around 0,5-3 and gameplay was impossible
