I’m sure it hasn’t escaped anyone’s notice that we haven’t resumed development or posted any news in quite some time. The truth is, we experienced some uenxpected financial difficulties at the end of last year, and while we expected to have them solved quickly, this did not happen. In fact, as it stands right now we do not have the money to continue developing Dawntide.

We’re still working on finding new investors, but this will take time. In the meanwhile, we have officially stopped all development. We hope to be able to resume it in the not too distant future, but as of right now we cannot say when that will be or whether it indeed happen at all.

The website will remain online and we will update it should our financial status change. I apologize for taking so long to post this announcement, but up until now we were genuinely expecting development to resume in February.

Being an indie project isn't an excuse for being a low quality product.

Know what's even more laughable? They were trying to release it as a P2P game. Oh boy, them indie dev groups sure don't learn their lessons.

I followed the game for a bit. I remember logging on to it quite some time ago, over a year ago.

The games concepts were fun, but I have to say I had no fun playing the game. Other posters are correct in saying that most indie games that are successful are fun, even in Alpha stage.

Mortal Online was fun (because of its combat system) in Alpha, so was Darkfall. PW Mod was great fun in its Alpha. Minecraft, of course. Wurm Online was fun in Alpha.

The game failed, but I'm sure members of the team will either stick together and try again with a new title, or will spread out and work on other sandbox games.

We are living in great times, most of the games I see coming out boast sandbox features. Sort of a mini-revolution in the types of games we play.
