    Default Your dream car?

    Whats everyones dream car here?

Me personally i'd love to have a bmw 750 series in all black. Right now all I have is a freaking old school monte carlos that I thought was cool cause it came with 26" rims and a stereo system that can be heard from blocks away. Bought it from a auction for a nice price, I honestly wish I had been thinking because the damn fuel gauge drops faster than a ****** with late rent. And the dude that owned it before had the doors shaved (it was auctioned so i guess he was a failed drug dealer lol) so you can only open the doors with a switch, so if u ever shut the door with the keys inside you are ****ed.

I could buy it, if it didn't cost me 200$ on gas per week.

Not anymore. The 16s thump so hard that when you get out of the car you experience temporary deafness, kinda like riding a airplane for the first time. lol, plus ive been pulled over twice. So for the safety of my own health, and the safety of my license that will probably be suspended by the time im 21 ive decided to slow my roll..

The funny thing is, I usually never played actual /music/, because you can't really hear it, just the instrumentals to songs.

I'm more into the Bosozoku style cars from Japan. They use cars from the 70s to late 80s, some in the early 90s. Some use modern style cars from our times and make them into VIPs.

    Some examples are:

Mark II Grande GX71, Shakotan Style.

    Nissan Fairlady S30.

It's a truck, sure, but it's my dream vehicle* and also, I already own it.

    Here is mine:

Do note the average vehicle MPG today is less than double of that from the 70s. With that said, vehicles from the 70s, again, on average, had a lot more power than most average vehicles today. My 74 gets about 10 MPG compared to a modern pickup which averages to 20. BUT, mine hauls a lot more ***.

TLDR: Less MPG, sure, but a lot more power on average.
Yep. You're ALOT more likely to survive a accident in old school cars. Theyre made of steel, compared to the fiber glass cars they make today that come apart easily.

You are aware that traffic fatalities have been on a steady decrease sense the 1950's with the 2000's having the lowest % of fatalities due to car accidents? As it matters little on what you car's body is made out of it the frame gives in and in the 1970's most cars/trucks were not made to last with many issue especially in frame rot, modern day frames are significantly stronger than their older counterparts meaning the car has a much higher chance of staying in one piece during and after a collision meaning survival of the occupants is much higher.

As for basic fender benders steel is much harder to work with and more costly to repair or replace than the fiberglass body parts of today's vehicles. The steel bodies of old times also need to be maintained better as they are far most susceptible to the elements and they increase the overall weight of the vehicle making gas mileage a pipe dream.

Overall having a steel body over a fiberglass body offers no safety benefits, increases maintenance requirements, decreases overall performance (need a bigger engine just to move the car..never mind get it moving fast), and decreases gas mileage making ownership more costly.

As far as power goes modern day sports cars get better gas mileage, have comparable and in most cases more horsepower, are safer to drive and have better handling characteristics.

As far as style goes that's all an opinion matter obviously and I do agree that many older vehicles had some character to them that some modern day vehicles just seem to be lacking.
