    Default Edge of Space

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/edgeofspace/edge-of-space?ref=live

Edge Of Space is a dynamic, open world sandbox survival adventure game. Where you build, create, mold, and work to survive and change the area around you. ON: PC/MAC

Edge of Space is about the journey of surviving in the deepest, darkest, weirdest, and possibly most interesting part of the known universe. How long have you been in cryo-sleep? No one really knows, and we doubt you will be thinking about that as you try to explore, scavenge, build, survive, and fight rocket-powered, cybernetically-enhanced laser sharks wanting to feed on you.

Edge of Space is the story about—wait, that's not quite right. It's a journey of the proud men and women of ArkCo. Going where no one has wanted to go or was technically “meant” to go. You were one of the few, the proud, and the lucky to be on the ship that found this lonely, Bermuda Triangle-like area in the depths of space.
May it be luck, fate, reasons unknown, or perhaps an unsigned int. This ship has chosen an extremely volatile habitat as the perfect place to colonize..

    Mod support soon after launch

Hi, my name is Jake and I am one of two of the core team of HandyMan Studios. Paul and I have worked in the industry for 6+ years. My most notable jobs were working on Fallen Earth and EVE Online. Paul has worked on Fallen Earth, Gamebryo Engine Development, and Gamebryo Networking Development. We started a work-for-hire entertainment software company to eventually head in the direction of starting a game company the good old fashion way—working ourselves until we drop, getting up the next day, and then doing it again. With ramen and energy drinks as the fuel of choice. We have been making things for others to feed ourselves while we spend our spare time after work to make this happen.
This game is one of our dream games and we’ve been able to gracefully get help from friends where we've needed it. Two of which can be seen at our home page. But now it's time we want to kick into high gear. We've pushed the game into alpha, but now we need a boost to focus in, hunker down, and make this game a reality. We want to put our full attention to this game for release, and we don't want to have to go to any producer/investor for the money to do so.
The amount we are asking for is the minimum amount we need in order to facilitate what we lack: a music/sfx artist, paying those who have donated their time to the project to continue helping, and have the ability to focus all our time into this project.
We have the experience to ensure that this project reaches completion. At the end of the successful kickstarter, we will open up the game to those who receive that donation reward. We already have a working alpha, and you can see active gameplay.
With your help, we feel that your pledges will allow us to give our full focus to the project. That means we can launch in August. Every dollar more that we get from that minimum will allow use to bring more resources in and guarantee free content upgrades soon after release. We want this game to turn into something more. This part is just the beginning.

I think I rather stick to Starbound. I prefer their art direction.

I agree. The edge of space art/animations to me look so horrible and it seems like they are over complicating the game. I don't think the game is going to get funded because I saw it a week ago and it barely has more funding now than it did then.

Starbound looks way better I think
