Planetside 2
Kind of surprised that this isn't getting a lot more attention on the forums. I know that people have posted about the game in the past, but it's pretty much on the foot steps of closed beta. If you have played the first one, you know how much potential this game can have if it is done right. Even though the game is currently in alpha, it looks EXTREMELY polished.
A truly massive (64km continents) MMOFPS, persistent world with over thousands of players fighting within 3 empires over territory. The game will have a fully day and night cycle, support 666 vs 666 vs 666, coupled in battles varying from infantry, vehicles, and air battles. The developers claim the game is "FPS first" and have heavily emphasized a polished shooter to accompany the massive scale of the game.
Closed beta is slated to start in "a few weeks".
Currently you can either sign up for beta at http://planetside2.com for a key, or you could try your luck and get one on twitter at https://twitter.com/#!/planetside2. If you have played Planetside 1, you are guaranteed beta access, just make sure you can login to your old account and update the email if need be.
