Default Star Wars: The Old Republic WILL SUCK

Let's start off With the Ensidia interview.
Darth Hater - Interview with Ensidia on PvE Raiding

A long drawn out windbag of an interview in which Darth Hater puckers up to Ensidia. But we get some things out of the way immediately, Its going to be gear based, it WILL be like wow, and they are totally drawing from EQ guilds for inspiration.

As a matter of Fact EQ not EQ2 or WOW is the main inspiration for TOR, Your looking at huge dungeon ares, an immense ammount of gear dependency and a very poor pvp system, the only difference this time is players will have npc pets, so those 40 mans will only require 20 players.. if your lucky.

    Quote-
End Game Content like Raiding is available if players do not want to re roll-

Translation RAID or Reroll.. not much of a choice is it..

    Quote:
...What about the tradition of Jedi crafting their own lightsabers?

Rich: With the way that MMOs work, gaining and upgrading loot over levels, you're not going to end the game with the same lightsaber you started with. That might mean a succession of different lightsabers ...

James Olen, Studio Creative Director: Yeah, our game is about loot. There are things in our game that as you progress you definitely can tell a new player from a high-level player.

Ive never heard of a crafted item referred to as loot, as you don't "loot" it off anything.

So this isn't even going to be traditional Star Wars even from a gaming point of view, they have totally sold out the fans on this in hopes of getting the same WOW kids who populate WOW currently. You cant even build your own lightsaber for gods sakes.

    World Of StarWars, how sad.
    What a failed opportunity.

It doesn't sound good at all. It just is not staying true to Star Wars. I think their thought process is that a lot of people won't care as much about the genuine Star Wars experience, but that is just not true.
