I'd much rather buy game time using a game card or even just paying using a debit or credit card, but I absolutely hate subscription models.

between website navigation problems and K9 Web Protection, I can't find out for sure, but does lego universe let you buy time, or is more of that "let us take money out of your parents' banking account every month" crap?
