I live in Australia and I am looking for the best free MMOFPS (or MMORPG if its THAT good) that preferably have Australian servers/players currently active. It would be a big relief to know that I will lag less knowing I'm in a server or with gamers who live in Australia.

Counter-Strike: Online
It's hosted in Singapore.

Don't bother with Counter-Strike: Online, even if the servers are in Singapore/Malaysia, I still got pings of over 300.

There's not many F2P FPS games that cater for Australians. You're better off buying Counter-Strike: Source for 20 bucks and playing on the Australian dedicated servers.

That, or Team Fortress 2. TF2 has a fair few Australian servers also.

I can say that Combat Arms is OK to play, nothing special-- But the latency doesn't seem to be an issue when I played.
