I think anyone can get into the MMO industry if they're passionate about what they want to do. There are a good deal of indie MMOs out there - most of which were started by ONE guy.

Why don't you get your foot on the door of one the MMO Developers by becoming a beta tester or assistant designer and get more idea of the elements of development of a MMORPG? You can also build some useful relations that way. you will know what to do next then.

Thats what I might be going for. A tester, but i'm really into computer programming so that can be another option. The person from Funcom also said you don't really need to be involved in the process of making games to be in the game indie. You can be the community manager or GM. There are a lot of opportunities for people that want to get into the Game Industry I reckon. But the sad thing is Australia is not really a place for Games Development, so i pretty much have to go overseas and hopefully get a job anywhere else.

Also Remo! I would like to write a article about this! PM me and i will write one up and show you if thats ok. Thanks!

    Sort of yes and no.

My friend told me (and I'm not sure if this is true), that most of Team Fortress 2's developers were Australian, that Valve paid to bring them over to the US to work with them, or something like that.
