True that. I choose for unique because i like games which give you a total new feeling. A game can be unique and generic aswell. So it contains new styles of gaming, like the new combat systems in Vindictus, GW2, TERA Online etc. and still have the normal MMORPG feeling. there are developers who risk alot to make a unique game. If the game becomes a hit, more developers will follow them and start copying. What generic copying concerns, if you want to copy an MMORPG you should make the gameplay as smooth as possible imo. A fitting interface and gorgeous graphics. Even though WoW has a low graphic system the art style of the game is top notch. And don't forget the community...
+1 totally agree with you, Knight Online is/was one of the ugliest games ive ever played, but the community made it one of my favorites MMOs ever. One aspect of every MMO that i play that i absolutely love is the Economy, which is driven by...u guessed it...the community.
