Default Help - Should I buy and if yes: what?

Okay. Im a laptop gamer and that is going to be that way. But my laptop is terrible for gaming. I dont really know the stats, but I do know Ive got 1 gig ram and 2,0 GHz of something... Lets see the name is Extensa 5230 and its an Acer

So. If I want to buy a NEW laptop it has to be kinda cheap. I looked up on a webshop site and found these computers:

    HP G72-b10SD Biscotti - 17.3 inch / Intel Core i3 / 3072 MB / 500 GB
    €599,-

    Intel Core i3 - i3 350M
    2260 MHz
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition
    3072 MB DDR3 1024 MB + 2048 MB
    500 GB (5400 RPM)
    17.3 inch (44.0 cm)
    1600 x 900 pixels
    HD+ high-definition HP BrightView
    ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470
    512 DDR3

    HP Pavilion DV7-4170ed - Intel Core i3 / 4096 MB / 500 GB
    € 799,-

    Intel Core i3 - i3 350M
    2.26 GHz
    Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit
    4096 MB DDR3 (1066 MHz) 2 x 2048 MB
500 GB (7200 RPM Serial ATA)
    CD, DVD-/+RW DL
    17.3 inch (44.0 cm)
    1600 x 900 pixels
    HD+ high-definition HP BrightView LED-scherm
    ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470
    512 MB

    Acer Aspire 5736Z-453G32MN T4500 /320GB / 15.6 inch
    €467,-

    Intel Pentium Dual-Core - T4500 processor
    2.30 GHz
    Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit
    3072 MB DDR3 (1066 MHz) 1024 MB + 2048 MB
320 GB (5400 RPM Serial ATA)
    CD, DVD-/+RW DL
    15.6 inch (40.0 cm)
    1366 x 768 pixels
    WXGA TFT LCD
    Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M

Now before everyone starts shouting: GET THE BEST AND SO THE HIGHEST PRICE! I want to make sure something:
    I want:
    - A computer I can use during colleges. And so its easy for traveling! Home-college-parents-friends-etc
    - I want to play some nice games on it, think about... I dont really know cause I never play games with high requirements. But for example I want to be able to be on MSN, record and play RoM for example.
    - I dont want to spent that much money, so the lowest price is the best option.

Then Ive got three things more to say:
    - What will it give me if I would buy the highest price laptop? Would I be able to play thousands of more games? What would if give me if I buy a NEW laptop?
    - Is an Acer better then HP? Because Ive got an Acer right now, but Im not really that happy with it. Its big and gets hot quickly.
    - Should I look further for a laptop? Because I just picked some random laptops.

the G72 and the DV7 would be your only choices for gaming on that list.

I suggest the DV7 specifically. Seeing as I don't live in places that accept Euros, I wouldn't know what else to suggest to you.

Only plays Magic DPS Classes, Healers and Machinist/Engineers.

I suggest AMD Phenom X6 over alienware anyday. Alienware is going down the drain as AMD revs up their processors better than Intel.

The DV7 has LED, less power consumption. (Also why it's more expensive along with the extra 1 GB of RAM.))

The acer down there should be removed completely, I would never suggest Intel Graphics for gaming.

The Earth Simulator costs 400 million dollars.

Each processor node in the Earth Simulator contains 8 vector processors running at 500MHz with 16GB of shared memory, and the total main memory in the machine is 10 terabytes. The operating system running on the supercomputer is NEC’s UNIX-based OS called “SUPER-UX” which is used on NEC’s SX Series of supercomputers.

Build their own laptop? They don't want a desktop, so how will they build their own laptop if the tools are not readily available to buy at most retail stores?

I'm guessing you're annoyed that none of us recommended a cheaper laptop. It's a fact that laptops that can survive gaming (especially 3D Gaming nowadays) must cost over 700 USD.

    Here are some tips:

    DO NOT go Intel Graphics.
DO NOT go for low-numbered ATI graphics (Anything below 4550 is asking for trouble.)
DO NOT go for netbooks. (Some can support low-end 3D MMORPGs, but 3D MMORPGs like Kitsu Saga, are pushing it.)
DO NOT go for bluetooth. It is very costly sometimes, and usually if the laptop has bluetooth, it had to have taken a power consumption hit or taken out a good space for better graphics, etc.
DO NOT rely on Wireless Networks.
DO NOT use MMORPGs at school. Often, the hardware firewall they have will block any ports by a normal client that are not 80, 8080 or using FTP.
DO NOT go for NVIDIA ION.
DO NOT go for Blu-Ray. (This can jack up a laptop's price by 150 USD alone.)
DO NOT buy a device with Windows Starter, it will not do most of the functions you want.
DO NOT buy at Best Buy or a big-chain retail store. The only thing these guys are good for are Movies, Games, and Desktops.
DO NOT go for single-core laptops.

I just use Fraps or Xfire. Handy to see your fps in games that doesn't include a built-in counter.

I usually measure my FPS (for the screen record, I know what my game's FPS is) before I go in and really record (by testing the record with CamStudio, I can optimize my ffdshow settings.)

In all honesty, I've made it so CamStudio can outperform xfire if I wanted to, just not at 1080p >_> Though, who would record that?

I prefer Frap's "benchmark" feature for calculating fps :P

I still usually round it when I put it into the videos tho :/

Since I can't buy fraps, I'd have to settle for camstudio, as I don't like xfire, and raptr either. (They also only work on games they support. IE: Kitsu Saga wasn't one when it released, even after several weeks it wasn't. I don't think it still is.)
