F2P MMORPGs always disappoint me. That is why i always go for Buy2Play.
No restrictions, no stupid shiny stuff.

Yeah the cash shop thing is very sad but the developers have to make some money when titles are F2P. So Buy to play ftw.
What MMORPG's am I looking forward too?
Core Blaze
Guild Wars 2
Blade and Soul
Continent of the Ninth (C9)
Life is unfair, deal with it.

Basicly f2p imo means "unlimited free trial with a few restrictions". You can play the game, but if you want something EXTRA you have to pay. Of course, you can still play for free, but in some games if you want the full experience you'll end up paying. I understand why, because the people want some money for their job. And why not? If there isn't a cash shop, there isn't a free MMO.
And about p2p games going f2p. I think it is a good thing. There are so many f2p games that you're not going to search for a p2p game. And of course there are some epic p2p games, but thats it. Its really hard to compete with those. It's easier to compete with f2p games. And think about it. Are you willing to play several p2p games for 15 euro's/w/e per month per game? No? And are you willing to play several f2p games for NOTHING? And if you want to gain something you'll end up paying like 15euros/w/e? Yes.
That's my personal opinion 'bout p2p VS f2p games ^^.
the problem is that they do their job for moneyI understand why, because the people want some money for their job.
publishers don't care about what's in the item shop and how it affects the gameplay as long as they produce money.
Why would you play several games? One awesome game is enoughAre you willing to play several p2p games for 15 euro's/w/e per month per game?
I play several f2p games because they suck
that's my opinion
Look at Lotro, they force you to buy quests, maps, characters, bags, warehouse space and more because if you don't, you'll be stuck.Basicly f2p imo means "unlimited free trial with a few restrictions"
+ How can you enjoy a game if you keep getting pwned?
The rich guys always rule the game
the more f2p games that i play and that have CS the more i hate f2p i like it cause well its free but i think b2p is way better but im hoping more companys see that if a game is to CS heavy it will fail
lotro is alright cause ya its a little to CS heavy but u as a f2p person are able to farm turbine points (the CS currency) in the game from different quest and with the deals they have all the time its easy to be pure f2p and never spend a cent on the game unlike allods online were u have no way of get CS currency and were for more bag space u have to pay $20 or more for 1 bag
u can get CS items from the items shop but i think if they lowered the prices on all their stuff in the CS it would greatly help them.
Reputation: 10I would rather pay 20$ for a game that updates once a month, releases various content (Weapons, armor, classes, etc.) than play a free game where the only updates are 'maintenances' which never seem to do anything.
Like, in Team Fortress 2. They have a cash shop, but pretty much most things in the cash shop you can find by playing, or craft - Heck, you can even trade it if you want. So, with this you can save up your spare stuff and make the weapon or gear you always wanted.
Other FPS games make it so the only way you can get that Uber weapon is to buy it from the cash shop, forcing you to send money in. That weapon also has a great deal of damage and accuracy; There's no negatives to it, and using it ensures you'll kill 5 people before you get killed.
In TF2, things are pretty balanced with their variety of weapons. Using X over Y means you can say - Heal 15 HP on a hit, but you lose 1/4th of your ammo capcity.
I also find that Buy 2 Play games have servers everywhere. In Free games, all I ever see is North America (x1000) and European servers. Buy 2 Play games often have servers in my area which are often populated.
I look back and facepalm at the 330$ I spent on one game's cash shop, when I could've used that to get a fair variety of great games.
Free games are just, ugh with their services now. Aeria is alright with their stuff, as how their Cash Shop works - But their updates are really only maintenances, and every few weeks they just turn discounts and stuff upside down and say 'buy this, get this extra' every single time.
Riot Ekhm
and most FPS games aka Genesis AD offer best guns for in game coins... still cod4 beats all haha ^^
