Both games are pretty horrible. FFXIV is just unplayable, in fact it was so unplayable that nobody wanted to play it, so they had to make it F2P lol. WoW is playable, but I don't like Blizzard's philosophy about personal information, might as well play Allods then which is pretty much the same just better.
There are way better P2P MMORPGs, my first choice would probably be Phantasy Star Online. FFXI is also way better than FFXIV.

I have played both and currently have a subscription to WoW. I bought FFXIV special edition by pre-ordering it and was expecting a thoroughly enjoyable game. However, I was disappointed. The interface is laggy, the graphics are intense, the fighting is slow, the game doesn't explain much t new players, the job system is overly-complicated, you have to learn how to type text commands to play properly, the payment per character is lame, and on top of that, exp is capped for 8 hours. WoW is much better to be honest.

All of you say WoW is horrible, and I am wondering how many of you have actually played it?
And actually, you are mistaken. The game came with a 30-day free trial to those who bought the game. That 30-days was later extended to 60, and then indefinitely. The negative reviews moved them to allow players to experience all of the updates before seriously committing to a game that would take so much time to enjoy. So technically, I think you still have to buy the game to play for free. So it is B2P? For now at least. Later on, probably on the release of the PS3 version it will not be B2P anymore, but B2P2P (Buy to Pay to Play).

I've played P-servers cough and trial, never liked it. I'm still concidering of buying it. Just for the heck of it and because entire neighbourhood is playin it. About FF, I believe most reviews and all say that the UI and what not looks horrible and that you can get lost really fast. I won't say WoW's horrible. I've always kinda wondered why people always try to antagonize WoW.
As for FFXIV, I've heard it sucks terribly, but the fact that it's F2P now makes me curious to try it just to see how bad it is instead of wasting a decent 20-60 dollars on it or whatever amount of money it costs.

wow is probably the worst game ever made? i mean how the hell they even got 200 players to play it not 11 milions? i mean its so boring i got tired of it at lvl 15. The quests are dull and repetitive, gameplay is horrible, graphic is just stupid but can run on any computer. I mean the characters look so ugly. Is there a thing that makes you want to play it? Community is full of haters and raging ppl. I mean there are so many better f2p mmos not to say p2p it just makes me mad. (i now this thread is about FF but i just have to tell my opinion on wow because i see sow many ppl thinking its a good game). I mean rather than spending 15 bucks on WoW give it to charity and go play some better f2p mmo.

They're very different games, WoW is extremely cartoony and full of awesome kids =\ but yeah FFXIV just looks incomplete and have only seen bad responses about it.
