question about rift

Well I would ask this on rift's forums but seeing as you must have an active account to post there I figured I'd ask here.

If I were to buy rift do I automatically get the free month (like WoW) or is it like EQ2 where I have to also post a credit/debit card number, and or a 2 month gamecard?
