i7 has the Power Gate which is able to switch off cores which are not in use, saving switching and leakage power. Turbo Mode monitors the CPU use and in situations where there is significant load on a core the multiplier for that part of the CPU will be increased to further enhance performance.

the new 3D Transisters have power leakage, from what I've seen on the CNET Article.

First post has been updated, please note my current cas latency (9-9-9-24) and the upgraded RAM's CAS Latency (7-7-7-21), both have the same voltage.

Would it be wise to see first what would happen if I upgrade the RAM if CAS would make a difference?
