Err. Considering the small amount of "Hack n' Slash" MMOs out there(that I know of), it'd probably be better to list them in a particular order.

    3D List
    1. Dragon Nest (CBT is starting soon, however I played the Korean version and it was phenomenal.)
1.5. Vindictus/Mabinogi Heroes (Right up the alley with Dragon Nest, however it's more mature themed compared to DN)
    2. Divine Souls (I didn't particularly like the instances in this game. They felt too drawn out and less polished)
    3. GunZ (I wasn't a fan of the game since it's almost entirely PvP, but it has a large playerbase)

I don't think these fit into the "Hack n' Slash" category, but oh well
    2D List
    1. Dragon Saga (Polished instances, though they can get repetitive at higher levels, Great skill animations. Lots of fun.)
    2. Grand Chase (Though the instances are a tad repetitive, with the new Chaos update it's a lot easier to level and acquire new characters)
    3. Lunia (Great instance system. However, it requires Cash Shop items for more than one occasion. Ex. Characters, rebirthing, etc.)
    4. MapleStory (Large playerbase. Leveling became easier after the Big Bang update. No instances, however there are party quests.)
"Do not fear death. Death is always at our side. When we show fear, it jumps at us faster than light,
but if we do not show fear, it casts its eye upon us gently and then guides us into infinity..."

Dragon Saga is 3D and not 2D. You can move left/right/north/south/up/down. 6 directions -> 3D. The only think that is 2D are the attacks in the game (and even those are 3D in some dungeons and boss battles). If anything it's 2.75D.

I suppose. I usually consider it 2.5D because of the side-scrolling camera and somewhat linear mapping system. Though you can move north/south, it still doesn't deviate much from the 2D maps. They just throw in the twist of going a different route by moving into a 3D-ish fork.

    Yeah it's a sidescroller but it's not 2D.

    Oh well doesn't matter.

On topic: My favorite hack 'n slash game so far is Dragonica. I also liked Maple Story to some extend, but it doesn't really feel much like a hack 'n slash game.

Looking forward to: Dragon Nest (most wanted), Continent of the Ninth, Blade & Soul, Vindictus EU, RaiderZ, TERA

Can't forget about Kritika either. It was originally known as "Project Apple" I believe. But it looks really good. Too bad it won't come out for a long while.

Dragonica for me too. It gives me the will to stay coz of updates. I was addicted to Wonderking before though.

I find Spiral Knights to be quite fun to play now and then. However if you are not into the whole dungeon crawl-y stuff it might not be a game for you. The game uses energy system which makes it harder to play nonstop for free but you can buy energy from other players which i think is a great addition and makes it possible to play without paying. I log in every few days to run some dungeons and it entertains me well.

Another up and coming that's definitely worth a mention is Path of Exile. Fans of Diablo2 may get a kick out of it.

Another on the 2D side scrolling side is Elsword, but it's got some major bugs and server issues which are definitely not fun. Also it's way too easy, you can solo the very hard difficulty level of dungeons no problem. Aside from that it's pretty fun.
