Yeah. It gets far more confusing later on and it gets a little better too but not much. I wouldn't be putting it down but there's so many people that like it. I just think some people wouldnt even like it that much if so many people didn't like it. So anyone have anything to change my mind? :P

I think it's because it was the first 3-d final fantasy game. Not sure though, but I liked it, but not as much as some people do.

Well I like the FF series alot. My favorite is 11 which is online so yeah. 7 was crazy good for me, I like how there are multiples story for each character. And they go indept with them, Sephiroth was cool, but not amazing. He is popular because the way he looks, mainly the reason why alot of people like 7 is because it offer ton of stuff to do. All those mini games, the chocobo races, that motorcycle game, ect was insainly fun xD. For me the main reason is the storyline, I was hooked on FF7 for like 3-6 days straight.

Final Fantasy 7 just draws you in. It was the first 3D FF game, so it's another reason why it's so legendary. The story is confusing, that's a given, but if you actually play the whole game, not just the story, it begins to unwind. It really is a great game, and there's no reason to be putting it down. People like it for what it is/was. FF 8, and FF X are both 2 other great examples of legendary FF games. Sorry for leaving 9 out, but I've never played it to be able to judge it.

Ah, I guess i'm just very opinionated because I thought Sephiroth looks really lame. I mean he's got long azz grey hair And he wears some weird trench coat thing with shoulder pads or whatever. Taaaaaacky. His sword is pretty cool though that's about it.

The chocobo race and the motorcycle race i think could have been left out lol They were just tedious to me. I guess it's just not my kinda game but ALOT of other peoples kind of ideal game.

The thing about the storyline of the FF series that catches people is the fact that it isn't a 1,2, or 3 tiered story. It carries a traditional aspect of creating a primariy plot, several sub-plot, and a great many micro plots that some how affect one another. I love the whole many stories in one plot and wish that there were more games like this, but there isn't. The reason is because some people will start a game like that off and find the first portion confusing and hard to grasp. They fail to realize thatr one must understand the whole story to grasp the fun of the game. In such, many people who prefere to let the game think for them are turned off by games that tend to boggle the mind and make one think, "what if?"

I love Final Fantasy series. IE, I played a rom of the origanal FF4 (I think) and was hooked for days, a rare breed amung old games.

Yes, FF is tedious (some times I just wish the game would hurry up and get to a nice, long prerendered cutscene) and dificult, but it's a great thrill to know that I traveld all that diatance in game and spent such large amounts of time a game that normally (on other games) I would have stoped playing in the middle.

To me, the game has to have a good plot (with exception to games gered towards multiplay) in order for me to have a good time.
[end -- oops, I made my post a little long]

every ff game is the same as the next one, so if you played one, you basically played em all.

That's a complete lie, It's called a 'Final Fantasy' how can they be the same?
If you are thinking of the battle system well, that isn't all the game has.
    All the FF game's have
    Different Character's, Different World's, Different Story's.
Except ff10 and ff10-X and FF 12 with FF tactic's
But that's only for the world and a few character's

Every FF is different. Every FF has different magic and fighting systems (look at FF12), every FF has a different story with different characters in different places with plenty of different things to do. The only similarities are the things purposely left there for fans, like the chocobos, mogs and whatnot... and things like the turn based gameplay.

If I had to go off a limb, I'd say you haven't actually played through one but that counts out the possibility your just an idiot.

    EDIT: Beaten by a minute.

By your logic, the game would be over in about an hour tops. It once again makes me question just how much FF you've actually played.

Plus, this isn't the best argument. Tell me what games you enjoy and I can do the exact same thing.

Ive played 1 through 9, and the story is different by dialouge..you still go through the same process almost every time. except that awesome card game in ff9 it was so fun with hours of awesomness.
