Ragnarok Online was most addictive for me and it even has a pet system.
Allods Online can be quite addictive as well.
Dragon Nest and all the other action MMORPGs are addictive as well but only for a limited time. Dungeons and Dragons Online has the same effect.
Anything is addictive if you are having fun, just don't be antisocial emo kid and play by yourself, join a guild etc. Pretty much any game i played for more then a year was because it was with other people.
I agree with Dmytro, you have to find people to play with.
I was playing Dragon Nest and was soloing. I got really bored, so I quit.
A week later, I decided to get on. I started talking to this random guy, and now I'm in a 4-man party and a 4-man Skype chat.
Just gotta talk to people. :3
Reputation: 10Ragnarok Online was also a long time game of mine as well.
Atlantica Online was also a pretty neat game that got me engaged for awhile.
S4 League is definitely addictive if you like MMOTPS games, I seem to find myself getting drawn back into it.
In the end though, if you're looking for a long term game, it's just like what the others were saying. Find a game you like, find some people you like in that game you like, and then there's your addictive game!
Dungeons and Dragons Online is also only addictive, if you play it with a group of friends.

Reputation: 10Ragnarok Online as #1, totally.
#2 would be Dream of Mirror Online. If you want to get anywhere you have to be in a party, since there's an party system you don't have to go anywhere to be put into a party - And when in a party, usually you just socialize while killing mobs. Awareness of the situation is needed but you don't have to be attacking all the time unless you're in a bad group.
Only the Healer and Tank should be aware of when not to talk.
Been in plenty of parties and gotten multiple characters over level 40, the fun comes within' socializing with randoms in your party whilst killing.
For me that was 9Dragons back in the day, runner up is ArchLord.
