Now, after reading the article and watching the video, a few things ticked me off. First off, Im sure some of you won't even read this and just say, "GET OUT OF OUR COUNTRY ILLEGALS." Now, my grandfather and grandmother lived here without documentation for about 7 years. They worked hard to support a family of 9 kids, and worked undocumented and uninsured. Why didn't they bring up this so called "problem" 10 years back? Or hell even further? In the video a protestor accuses the so called "counter-protesters" of being racist. They also accuse them of beating old woman and children. Wow. They claim the "counter-protesters" go for the weaker ones.
I actually took part in the "walk-out" that happened earlier in the year. We walked out of school and walked to downtown. I was suprised at the amount of students that had come from sorrounding schools.
"I believe that all Americans need to know about this and need to see that Mexican flag hanging at an American post office," she wrote to Anderson. "We are being invaded and the American people need to wake up!"
That is the most ignorant statement I have ever heard. "Invaded" is such a harsh word, these people, who so strongly feel they are being "invaded", are a bad example of what America supposedly stands for. Now, I don't agree with the methods the protesters use to show their agruement, I agree they were a little drastic, but don't ever say "All they do is make trouble" again. Many have worked for years undisturbed, and now they come to see what this country, to which they so wanted to be apart of that they stooped to working and living undocumented, really is.
Why are they "protecting" only one of the borders?
I just hope this will not tear this country apart, this so called "problem" is stirring more trouble than it is about.
