    Default Let's talk about LotRO.

Lord of the Rings online, this is a game I've had my eye on since I quit WoW, (3 days ago). I was just asking mmohut if it is worth the download and time to level a character. If you could tell me a little bit about the game then that would be great.

Any suggestions on F2P would be nice, I'm very outdated on F2P and don't really know of any games that are good right now.

    Thanks.

Yes, LOTRO is quite good, so you should give it a try.

Currently most popular F2P MMORPGs around here:
    Allods Online
    Lord of the Rings Online
    Dungeons and Dragons Online (instanced)
    Age of Conan
    Hellgate (instanced)
    Dragon Nest (action, instanced)

    Still semi-popular here:
    MapleStory
    Flyff
    Vindictus
    Eden Eternal

After that come all the Perfect World Entertainment games.

I think if you want something that will give you a inspiring story and is mostly adult themed then go for Age of Conan
I would say that AOC restricts more however offers a better experience than Lotro.

I played Lotro to lvl 55ish when it was p2p, and now I have a lvl 30 on f2p. I like that game a lot better than WoW. The maps are nice and feel like real places, and best of all the players aren't jerks who are like "why can't you complete this dungeon in 2 minutes, don't you have all the dungeons memorized? come on, i need to get to 80 in 1 week!" That is to say, it's not just about hitting the level cap-- it's about the journey. Once you get the customizable (legendary?) weapons and enter moria it gets really awesome. Moria is the only zone in an MMORPG that feels like a level in an adventure game. Very high quality game with a lot of thought put in to it. I highly recommend it. pvp is limited, but very fun once you get to it. having the whole realm pvp on one map can get epic, and certain players become raid leaders, stuff like that.

Lotro is far from a WoW-clone... Have u even played it? :') It might be a skill spammer, but let me tell u one thing; 50% of WoW-lore is stolen from Lotr. Graphics outclass WoW and the feeling of the game is a lot different then WoW. Don't call a game a clone if you don't have any idea what ur talkin bout. Just because it has a S4-system, doesn't make it a WoW-clone. Besides, WoW is an EverQuest-clone.

Open up your mind and start thinking for yourself instead of just following what other people say ("zOmg this game is a point click game? WOW CLONE rofltrolololo"), understand that LOTRO copied nothing from WoW.
1st because WoW didn't invent anything except some small mechanics.
2nd because LoTR is an epic saga that was one of the pioneers of the current "Fantasy" theme, so if anything, WoW copied LOTR and D&D (Curiously enough, both were made into MMORPGs published by Turbine) in terms of Lore. And even I disagree with that, because for something to be considered copied it had to be in the kinds of: Same interface, same gameplay, exactly the same class names, same map characteristics and so on.
If you even dare saying: "hurrrr durrrrrr the gameplay feels the same derrrrrrp" - Consider this: WoW didn't invent the typical MMORPG gameplay, UO and Everquest were probably the very first on that and no one goes around saying every game is a copy of those, do they?
Prove your point if you have anything else to say.
