Meh, if it is your favorite list, it's not 100% accurate. Imo, personal tops are shenanigans :I
Argo Online & Bounty Hounds Online on top 20, ha, ha, hahaha.

Explain to me how a favorites list is ever less than 100% accurate. That's why they're called opinions...

Ye, I know, but most list have been put together by critics, who know where to look at. Some of the games in the top list seem like complete ripoffs of other F2P games out there. Besides, Top MMO's doesn't really make sense, because you can't put a race game next to a RPG.

I seriously doubt a majority of gamers who post in these forums have a collection of 47 video game systems, more than 1650 games, or nearly three decades of gaming experience to show for their "opinions," but that doesn't stop me from listening to or respecting their thoughts. Thanks for your meaningful contribution to this thread, though, Vinzix... After all, what makes a critic more qualified than an avid gamer to provide guidance for other potential players? Just the fact that some of them get a paycheck for their reviews? In fact, it seems more biased to rely on professional reviewers. But again, that's just my opinion.

The question I'm asking myself is, did you even get to the cap in one? Because trying so many games will take a time, getting to the cap even more. With most games, getting to the cap pays off and gives you more stuff to do then the standard main 'leveling up-story'. If you didn't get there in all those games, then how can you decide which one is better then that one?

Sarnius263, did you not see Lord of the Rings at #15? And if you don't like personal lists, then why are you even posting in this thread? For me, the list was supposed to be fun, so it's ironic that people who are "all about the fun" are being so judgmental.

Oh no I meant in the poll and what did i say about personal lists? well obviously if you have a list based entirely on your opinions, other people are gonna say what they think about it and what should go where; that's the whole point of a top 100 or whatever so don't rage

Well, the only reason I didn't include LotR in the poll was because of its original status as a pay-to-play retail title. You can only poll on 10 options at a time, and I wanted to concentrate on titles that not only offered something different from the average F2P but was also created with F2P gamers in mind. Lord of the Rings is certainly a good game, but I hold a special level of respect for developers who enter the free market with no idea of how well it's going to be received. Like a good PvP system, the F2P market can often be high-risk / high-reward.

And you missed League of Legends from the poll? It probably showed everyone the different approach to f2p, now a lot of games are adopting the same model as LoL, to only sell cosmetic stuff in cash shop that doesn't impact gameplay in any way since it proved so successful, bet that few of ''other'' votes are for LoL.

A valid point, but I don't consider League of Legends to be an MMORPG. My Top 100 accounts for all genres, but LoL is a strategic action MMO to me. Still, you make a perfectly good point about its impact on the F2P model.

I'm sure plenty of people will also deny that BHO belongs as high on my list as it placed, but Bounty Hounds holds a special place in my gaming heart -

"Few people seem to remember the PSP Bounty Hounds from 2006, as it was plagued with control and camera issues and tanked in sales despite its stellar presentation. I have always thought of it as a personal cult classic, as I managed to overlook its flaws for the sake of its above average story and RPG-esque gameplay. Even so, I never expected Namco to resurrect the IP in 2011 as a free-to-play MMORPG, and a pretty good one at that.

I am currently playing in the closed beta, and considering the dozens of F2P games I've tried in recent years, I have been impressed with the overall product. It doesn't really break any new ground, but it contains many of the features that made the PSP version enjoyable - solid presentation, beautiful visuals, a consistent artistic direction, and fairly deep character progression. In many ways, it reminds me of Forsaken World, except of course its sci-fi theme, but its visuals and auto-nav feature are quite similar. Menus convey a large amount of information and upgrade options without being cluttered or confusing, and combat is strangely enjoyable. Experience rates also seem pretty high, though they might be drastically increased for closed beta acceleration, and considering the high level cap of 60, it could still prove to be a grind in the later stages.

I was actually surprised and impressed with the amount of background information and story that was carried over from the PSP title, since its unlikely that many players will recall previous events anyway. If you don't know, Bounty Hounds is in the same UGSF universe/timeline as Namco's Galaxian, Star Luster, Ace Combat 3, New Space Order, and Starblade (which might sweaten the deal for some of you classic gamers). However, the game is developed by XPec, a Taiwanese company, and not Namco proper, but with one of Japan's greatest publishers supporting it, Bounty Hounds might manage to make more of an impact on the F2P subgenre than it did on Sony's portable platform. Oh, and Subagames is publishing the MMO in North America, and while Suba may not be the strongest contender on the market, BHO is definitely a smart acquisition. If only their portal site did a proper job of matching the game's high production standards...

Anyway, I recommend snagging a beta key and giving the game a shot. You might enjoy it more than you expect."
