I just did a search for planetside and it's only referenced a few times here and really no mention of planetside 2. I've read some articles (not sure if it's just hype or actually confirmed), but it looks like SOE is making a free2play model for Planetside 2. Any info you guys got would be great - I'd thought I'd get the discussion rolling because no one else seems to be.

Q: Can you talk about the free-to-play aspect?

MH: We have a shop, so there are microtransactions. One of our key goals with microtransactions is never exclusively sell power. We will never allow you to buy an item that gives you more power. We want to make sure that the stuff that's available in the store is also available through gameplay. The store is a way to maybe bypass spending a lot of time finding items.
