this is just kinda sad lord Finesse's a legend is sueing mac miller for useing his beats on his mixtape he released 2 years ago mixtapes have been a way for artists to show there skill and get there name out he never made any money from the mixtape so how can he get sued?

lord finesse's even got started on mixtapes i dont even like mac but i love getting mixtapes and this could make getting mixtapes for free impossible if artists have to pay for beats they are going to have to make a profit i have discovered so many artists through mixtapes i dont want it to change. thoughts?

As much as Finesse has the right to do it, I think it's stupid. Miller didn't make moolah from the tape, so it ain't like he has money that should have been Finesse's money. And it's even a law; You don't have the right to redistribute something without the owner's permission for the right to make money. He didn't make money.
Oscar Peterson first performed the song which was Remixed by lord finesse, then Lord Finesse's version was remixed by Mac, and Finesse doesn't like it, well, I'm sure Oscar Peterson would be cool with it.
You ask permission first. Even if he didn't make any money from it, he still used it and probably didn't even let Finesse know. Plus, I'm pretty biased because I don't like Mac Miller and I don't even think he is any good. I remember one of his lines "Nike's on my feet keep my cypher complete" is a complete steal from Nas' "The World is Yours". But that's just my take on this whole thing
^ i dont like him either but this could end mixtapes finesse is just greedy and bitter he himself made mixtapes useing other peoples beats and i bet he never asked permission. the law is so backwards mac diden't make any profit from this why should he get sued. so many artists start out by makeing mixtapes and useing other peoples beats like jon connor for example he made a whole mixtape of Eminem beats artists have been doing this for soo long and people like finesse are going to ruin it i liked finesse but now i cant even stand him
I'm just saying "Nike's on my feet keep my cypher complete" sounds VERY similar to Nas' "Suede tims on my feet keep my cypher complete" on his "The World is Yours" track. It mainly bothered me because all these Mac jock riders at my school praise him and treat him like rap king when he's a poop stain compared to other rappers. BUT that is just the way I see him, could care less if people enjoy his music, as long as they are not ignorant about it.
Seems like Finesess isn't even mad.. hes probably just trying to get some extra money out of this for what ever reasons. And he can lose up to 10 mill? How the **** is the law suit that high when it was a free mixtape?
