Yeah, both games are worth subscribing to these days, but I prefer FFXIV. I think that FFXI was kinda messed up with the patches that made it possible to go from level 1 to max within in a single day. FFXIV has been making nothing but positive improvements and the performance is pretty good now, even though it's not the new engine. Just check out the official websites for each and read up on the improvements.

lol i bought a 10 dollar copy of ffxiv a long while ago and played during free period and stopped after just a short bit because the game was just kind of broken and empty... But it seems to have come a long way and 2.0 looks like it will win an expansion of the year award lol. It does look really promising. But it sucks that it is not coming out till january 2013...........
And I wish there was a trial thing for ffxiv, because I would like to try it again at this point before just dishing out 15 bucks for 30 days of gameplay lol.
I would go for FFXIV with the growing population (slowly) and ever changing game systems. FFXI is suffering from population drop issues and a very closed community. While they are attempting to add solo content to FFXI to help combat the lack of grouping, the necessary group events such as level caps are still fairly group intensive causing many newer players to be essentially cut off from leveling until they wait sometimes weeks to complete their level caps.

Haha ok. Ill look into FFXIV later on... Ill just stick to lotro until then. I hope that SE adds even more jobs to FFXIV very soon. I would love a Sage class... that was my favorite FF class. The sage in FF3... mmmm.... But yeah corsair would be great too. But I am just really glad they added the bard.
