I just got my new phone HTC Amaze and I was looking for a new rpg or strategy game. I saw Empire Online on google play store but I skipped over it. Downloaded Inotia 2 and Cartoon Wars instead. I'm going to give Empire Online a try since it sounds fun. You got me with ragnarok, rpg, final fantasy and pets

You can also look at Celes Arca or Iruna Online, 2 more Android/iOS MMO's.

The videos of this looked a bit hectic to me, something about 10 person parties that makes me think they tried to go too big.

How is character customization on this game? Can we get different hair styles? different armors? do items display on your character?

    1. Like you're playing a highly customizable MMO (sans hairstyles) with 2D Sprites.
    2. No.
    3. Yes.
    4. Define items.

I was going to try it, but then I saw the "Services that cost you money" permission. Why does this game need to read and send my text messages?

Because you can update your facebook/twitter ingame. You can also buy ingame credits via SMS.

Tried it for bit. It's a good mmorpg imo. However, I don't think I'm going to continue. It crashed on me a few times and I feel like it's a bit too team reliant for my taste.

But isnt that the point of a MMO.. to not feel like a single player game? Alot of the content ingame is soloable with just you and your pet..my fairy does a decent amount of damage.. i did some free gold offers and got a nice level 20 magical sword that does 600 damage aoe. its awesome.
Grouping is for instancing and doing elite mobs.

im opposed to having to team up to properly play an mmo. i don't like having to always rely on people that i know being around or havign to be constant friends with certain people. mainly because you can't really trust any1 on the web. so i prefer mmos to be more mystical andgive every1 the capacity to be a lone hero if u so wish.

so.. it is multiplayer in that you walk around and all the actors in the game are all real payers. so no npcs (or very few).

Then play a single player game. MMOs are not your thing if you have trust issues, or social fears.. I never understood the point of being a "lone" wolf in a game thats online.

People like being badasses in games (they fail horribly at it)
I think it's great to team up with others, even in EO.
Nothing is expected in the battle, they do what they do and you do what you do.

Party play makes the game all the more fun.
