This reminds me of the time when my mom had to take me to meet with a therapist because I spent so much time gaming. The therapist told me to imagine some of the things I could have achieved if I didn't spent 8 hours a day playing video games.
Like if I put those 8 hours a day on studying I would probably have gone to a university with a Highschool GPA of 4.0+
Or if I put those 8 hours a day on playing say.. tennis, I would probably be a pro.
What do you guys think?
Being good at something is relative to how much time you spent on doing it.
There are more than 8 hours in the day, so you can easily play 8 hours of games and do all of that other stuff too. Your life doesn't have to revolve around that one single thing just to be good at it. If you sleep for long or you think 8 hours is too much of your time to do anything else, then just cut down, otherwise there really isn't a problem with it.
I go to school for software engineering, I get all As, and I also write in my spare time. I like to think I'm a good writer; many other people think so too. I write, I study, and I also play video games at least 8 hours a day (or spend a huge fraction of those hours on here). Yeah, I'm not too good at anything else, but that has nothing to do with my gaming; I simply don't care to be good at anything else.
andyeah definitely what Orpheus said. I do just fine in college, because I like it, and I certainly don't study for 8 hours a day.
