White noise on my microphone?

I've been considering getting a headset, but I've never liked wearing headphones in the first place. So I'd rather not feel uncomfortable while gaming. ;/

I usually use Skype and stuff to communicate. Unfortunately, Skype doesn't have a push-to-talk function.
