Im deciding between either a Moped, or a motorcycle.

Anyone here with actual experience between the two can lend some advice?
Moped would be easier to learn considering they are automatic, not manual so you do not need to shift gears. Moped would probably be a bit safer also as you wouldn't be going high speeds with it. Both are equally as dangerous in an accident but a motorcycle has more of a potential for danger. That being said, I would take a motorcycle over a moped any day. They look much better and are a lot more fun to drive.

All right then. You can be tough guy, that's fine. I was just answering the question of which was safer to the extent of my knowledge.

Eh its not about being tough or anything. But death has a presence in just about everything. It all depends on chance really. I probably have a greater chance of dieing walking outside than I do riding a motorcycle.

I'm guessing that's probably straight up untrue, but OK.

Life or death. Its a chance we all take. Everyday. Might as well try stuff anyways.

I would bet that 90% of motorcycle accidents are the fault of the cyclist, not the car/truck that hit them/they hit. If you ride your bike like you would drive a car, then you should be fairly safe. (Defensive driving, don't ride between cars in traffic.)

the blindspot for a motorcyclist is much larger then if you are in a car so riding like you would drive in a cage is a terrible idea, you have to ride more aggressively to keep out of blindspots.

also most motorcycle accidents are not the fault of the cyclist "90%" of the time but the negligence of other people on the road, same as any other accident, you can't just generalize cyclists as being the cause of the vast majority of their own accidents.

This, The Problem isn't the cyclist, it's the people around you who are negligent, and the environment as well. Treys probably 19? I can guarantee you an accident in the first six months, guaranteed. Unless your an experience cyclist for years, your going to get hurt.

Since there was only one person to actually respond to what Trey was asking for instead of saying how many accidents and deaths happen when you ride a motorcycle, I'll try to give you an input on what is safer and easier to learn.

As Endrien said, the mopeds are quite easy to learn to drive because they are automatic and are most of the times caped at 60-80kmh(30 or 40mph I believe) or 90kmh. The mopeds are used for small distance destinations, but not riding on the highway since they don't the horse power or could reach that required speed for you to be able to drive on the highway. Also, when you ride a moped, you can easily fall from on some extreme curves if your drive on the maximum speed, since they are not as good in steering as the motorcycles; you don't have much of steering freedom with the mopeds and you can easily slip on a curve at higher speed.

On the other side, the motorcycles are far more dangerous. Their horse power varies or cubic centimetar from 125cc to 1000cc. But as starter, if you'd like to buy a motorcycle I would suggest you to buy a 125cc or 250cc motorbike, since they don't go fast enough, but can keep you on the highway if you have to travel long distance destinations. For the motorcycles, you will also have to get a driving license, while for the mopeds you don't need one, as the mopeds are considered less dangerous and less powerful. Also, as I mentioned earlier, you have bigger freedom in the steering with the motorcycles than the mopeds.

If you are or will be driving for the first time any sort of motorbike, then I'd definitely go for a moped, just to experience how it feels to ride a motorbike and then I'd take a motorcycle, somewhere between the lines of 125cc or 250cc and then go on more and more ccs.
Overall, mopeds are easier and safer to learn
