Default How much would this cost me

I already have a case, optical drives, and hard drive.

I need to buy a new motherboard, ram, CPU and whatnot. I already have 2 fans as well but I'm not sure if they're compatible. How much would that cost me?

i7 CPU (one that will last me a while)
    4 GB of Ram
Motherboard that will be able to handle i7 and 4gb of ram.

the graphic card I have is Nvidia GT 240

I would go with an i5 over an i7, mostly because you don't need hyper-threading for gaming and it would be cheaper. Unless you plan on doing multiple CPU intensive things at once.
You can get 8gb of DDR3 RAM for more or less the same price of 4gb, also.

For the i7, 4gb of RAM and a motherboard: probably around $450-475.

This is what I would go with, myself.
For a good i5, 8gb of RAM and the same motherboard: around $380-400.

Edit: I haven't really used Tigerdirect so I actually looked at newegg.com (also newegg.ca)
If you'd rather I look on there I can as well, but I imagine there won't be a price difference.

Any particular reason you need an i7 instead of an i5 and only 4GBs of RAM?

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

Heres the thing. Guild Wars 2 Lags like crap in WvW.

I'm just really tired of upgrading every 5-6 months. I want a computer that will last me a while. So no particular reason that I want i7 over i5. I'll get an i5 then.

Secondly, I want a good motherboard, because I hate having to upgrade EVERYTHING because my motherboard isnt compatible with an upcoming graphics card or something.

yup newegg.ca and tigerdirect.ca dont really have a price difference.

That is what I would go with. You won't have to upgrade that Motherboard for a long time (plus ASUS motherboards are awesome quality), especially since it has pci-e 3.0 and 3.0 is just starting to get used by high end GPUs like the 600 series GTX's. The total is just under $400 (not including shipping).

If the thing is Guild Wars lagging like crap then 8gb of RAM is a must, RAM is very important in having to pre-load large amounts of players.
