Mmm Ragnarok itself was kind of challenging for pvp and required knowledge, coordination and pretty good reaction speed (atleast for most classes). PVE wise the game was mostly a relaxing experience to me about having fun in dungeons meeting random people, chattin, lvlin up slowly, farming stuff and just lazing around, it was a pretty social game from what I recall.
To be frank to experience most of the fun you didn't need any particular skill other than being chatty, hehe.
As far as fighting mechanics go, the vita game that's upcoming and the real game are unrelated, the game that's coming out for the vita is more of a Ragnarok themed Monster Hunter game, while the actual Ragnarok was a pretty standard mmo in this aspect (except it felt 100x more comfortable than most <3), it was mostly clicking the enemy and waiting or spamming a few skills here and there to get the carnage done a bit faster :P Oh and massive potion spamming if you really wanna get stuff done
Frankly combat was never really hard PVE wise in RO, even more so if we compare it to a semi-action game like maple. For example if you were a rogue, if you wish you could just click once on a monster and wait until it dies :P (My bro always made rogues to alt tab out after clicking monsters xD) Some of this stuff changed alot with time though, but who cares ^^
Sorry for long post, everytime I think about RO I get nostalgic and ramble like an old man x-x
(and now I think I might be feeling a bit humiliated since you're a mod and you can probably see how many times I edited my post x-x I'm scaaareeed)
Ok, cool. I think I'll be getting it when it launches. The only thing that makes is nervous is someone mentioned in a review that you may need multiplayer later in the game to handle the difficulty...I rarely ever play online and I'm the only person I know irl with a vita.
I can't not finish a story mode in games that I play most of the way. I neeeeeeeed it.
Also, no, I can't see how many times its been edited haha. And its cool, I like long posts anyway. Gives me something to read.
yeah. iro opened a classic server. i imagine it will be extremely laggy for ppl living in SEA though.
anw, ro odyssey is nothing like RO, in fact one of the few games i consider ro-esque (in terms of pvp) would probably be dota. just minus the pot/skill spamming; so ro is kinda like a higher apm dota
