but now I have reached the point of implementing the core class and combat mechanics and am scared if I don't have an audience and people testing this thing, I might not quite get it fun enough and all of my work will be in vain!
dps, crowd-control, area-of-effect, timed explosives, aimed projectiles, homing projectiles, cast-time, compensation for internet-latency, automated combat, skillshots, summoning, shields, healing over time, buffs, debuffs, mana... No matter what you design, I can critique it and complain.

Your game looks to be off to a good start.
