Default Comcast Slowing P2P Speeds? (Atlanta)

I've been using Comcast internet for a few years now, and recently since all of these torrent legal attacks my torrent speeds have decreased by a ridiculous amount. Even file with thousands of seeders start off with a high speed at about 2.0 mb/s then slows to a couple dozen kb/s after a few minutes. Isnt this illegal, or is there something i can do to fix this?

Throttling is a legal but frowned upon action.

There's nothing you can do about it other than changing ISP.

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

Dl, run, if positive call your ISP cancel and do not forget to tell then why.

Also yea Compcast has a bad rep concerning this.

Of course they will tell you that you are not compliant with what they consider fair use, as soon as you ask them to deliver what you sign up for.
Under this stance they are allowed to throttle any kind of traffic if they want to.
It's most likely not legal, but there are "tertiary issues" with most people who do not professionally use their connection but still rake up high volume (*wink* piracy *wink*) that prevents people from taking them to court.

Both ComCast and AT&T are infamous for throttling connections because they have the most coverage of any other service. With that said, their speeds are horrible for the prices and they have those silly limits where they charge you insane fees if you go over. Now compared to the rest of the world, our internet looks like a joke.

Internet should be free. If I'm not mistaken, it is free in a lot of countries.
