Default Which one should I get?

    AMD 7970 GHz:

    NVIDIA GTX 680:

I'm leaning toward the 7970 mainly because of the VRAM, and the higher -bit amount. However, the GTX 680 requires one 8-pin connector, rather than two (even though the 7970 will likely take less power to run.) I've only got enough money for one of these two (next month even) so don't suggest a 7990 or 690.

Only plays Magic DPS Classes, Healers and Machinist/Engineers.

It depends on the types of games you want to play: some are faster with a GTX680 and some are faster with a 7970.

4GB of VRAM is MORE than enough, unless you play across on 3 screen at the same time on a single card.

Right now I currently have a GTX 470 (1.2 GB VRAM) and due to it not being powerful enough, my CPU (AMD Phenom II X6 1100T) takes the slack even on High setting for Skyrim (Which is the recommended for a GTX 470). Either of these would be a serious upgrade though. However, I plan to do serious video rendering with after effects in the near future, as well as watching fraps videos I just recorded, etc. These take up both RAM and VRAM a ton.

Video rendering is CPU based, not GPU based. People record fine at 1080p with a normal GPU, as the real hog is the HDD in live recording. It cannot keep up with the data being written onto the HDD.

    That's why I don't stream either. I'll think I'll go with the 7970 though.
