Default Now the hype's all about Tera ~.~

Before it's Rose Online and its increase in playerbase because of steam and all,
    then Ragnarok's Renewal Server thing,
    then flyff, maplestory, Dragon Saga,
oh yeah then Ragnarok 2 (NA) being hosted by Gravity
and now TERA goin f2p~~~ (Then next probably would be TESO because of the beta test thing...)

Hype, hype, and more hype >

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining it's just that i've been tryin to look for that ONE game i can play "casually".
But with all the excitement around, whenever i decide to download one client, another thing comes up and it makes me want to try that too~ unfortunately, i don't have all the time in the world

In fairness Rose and Ragnarok weren't seriously hyped. A tiny fraction of the people here got involved. Mostly me at times .

then just play the game u like most lol. people are just looking for something to do so they go back to RO or maplestory or w/e, and now with Tera going f2p its only normal they want to try it out :P i dont really call that hyping though. hyping in my eyes is people going crazy, praising a game long before it comes out.

There are 2 things you can do, Figure out what you're going to hype and join the train (for that game alone) or Figure out your favorite genre and do the former. At the end of the day stay with one game you like, regardless of the new games coming out.

Pick a game, try it, don't like it, move on.

You don't have to stick to one if you don't feel like it, nor do you have to have all the time in the world to do so.
Just go through a few, pick the one you like, and stick with it. Typically what I do.

Why make another thread about it? I mean you already complained about the hype before... it won't stop even if you make a hundred threads.

    Basically you have two options:
    1. Just pick a game you like and stick with it no matter what other games are coming up.
    2. Just accept that you don't have to play the same MMORPG forever. Isn't it the same for offline RPGs? You play them through once, then move to the next. It's perfectly fine to just play games as long as you enjoy them.

I'm also tired of MMORPG jumping so I just stopped. I'm not going to try Tera even though it's promising and all, but if I really want to play an MMORPG by myself I'll still prefer The Secret World and I want to play with my friend I'd need to pick a game with low system requirements anyway (got Secrets of Grindea planned for that, for now it's PSO). So right now, I don't really see the need to try a new MMORPG, even if it's promising.

Edit: There is also a third option:
    3. Only play games that already existed for 1 year and are still doing fine. Best way to find out which hype was "true" and which was not.

There is no Flying hype. You know why? Because prior to Tera ever being F2P the game was already boasting a, play as long as you want trial. The game is open, people can actually access and see for themselves what it is. To hype is to praise a game and ardently await its arrival a great deal not withstanding the delusional expectations about a game that is unreleased and cannot be experienced.

If anything did happen to TERA, is that everyone and their brothers are talking about it because it is a decent/good game and now that it's finally free it's one worth playing and fapping to.

    I like your reply best

But then again, im not complaining.. i just get influenced easily. I guess you're right i better stop mmorpg hopping
I'll just go prepare for the green dragon in DN and max my character in Rose Online. I still have 100+ levels to work on and i think they're having some sort of event... Then Tera this Feb! )

And she's right only the Hardcore gamers really added to the Rose and RO threads. But that makes of most of MMOHUT/ONRPGS POPULATION
That's because the non-hardcore gamers only come here to ask for an MMORPG recommendation and then disappear forever (or at least for the next 3 months).
