    Ye. um..

No thanks. Saw NOTHING that could interest me in that game itself, neither the ITEMS, neither the price

Every new online game seems to be doing this now...

"Huurrr pay us $200 before the game's released for a fancy forum title and some useless in-game crap"

Yeah! Buy stuff that's worth less than $50 for $200! Makes complete sense!

So does this game actually do anything interesting to set it apart from other mmos? Ive heard the customization is going to be pretty good but nothing else really..

i think the customization be more cash shop thing. because the character model they give is race that need to bought to even use it

I think its ridiculous. Came across another one, but it was in the form of a kickstarter (Infinity Wars TCG). What's sad is, it make some of these Indie devs look like greedy devs. I do understand that PWI and Cryptic are not Indie companies, but you see this trend spreading bad.

    Just sad...

the combat looks interesting and the one big feature is the foundry which allows player to make their own dungeons for people. So its the closest thing to D&D ill get to play (i have no imagination and cant play it for real because its too silly)

that said im fearful of how this game will operate now,
having races locked off does not sound good and from the trailer it looks like its limiting the foundry mechanic

So let me get this straight... Games are far more harder to develop and release in our modern world due to high demands. We use to buy 60usd games left and right and never complained. Now when a game gives the option to support said game, everyone freaks the **** out and acts like entitled little ****s who should not have to pay for the hard word and dedication that was put into the game title they want to play.

Considering back in the days, when you pay $60, you play the full game and thats it, no more expansions and stuff for the next year or so, its worth it back then.
Nowadays, if you pay $60, guess what more tiny DLC appears that costs half as much (for similar games) and thats not for MMOs. For NWO, since its F2P, it WILL have a pretty cashshop dependent system. So theres the risk of the cashshop being so outrageously expensive and game breaking (like most PW games), then it will not be worth "supporting". Unless you are a huge fan, willing to preorder the game AND spend tons in the cashshop faithfully afterwards, theres no point in preordering for f2p mmos.

How exactly does that make sense? You're all willing to pay 60usd for a 2 hour game on the console but when an MMO offers at minimum a few weeks of content with the premise of more to be added in the future, you can't accept it?

I have no issue paying for games. I just don't want to pay $50 (or was it $60?) to get beta access. I have yet to pay for a game without it having a predecessor that proved that the concept was decent enough to gamble on (such as with GW2), or I've played a demo of it, or I've beta tested it.

I don't know enough about the game and do not have enough gameplay videos (at least in my opinion) to warrant anything more than a $20 purchase, and that $20 purchase doesn't even get me beta access, which makes me not want to pay for the game until it's released.

And no one is forcing you to wait till it's released as a f2p game. That's my point, you're all going to get to play without putting in a single penny but while there are some people who straight out refuse to pay for entertainment, there are people who want to support something as much as possible. If there is an option to not support the game, there should be an option to support it more than you normally could. Also, I doubt beta will only be restricted to those who buy that pack. But even if it was, so what? Beta testers are playing a game while the servers are running and the game is losing money while the majority are not even trying to find bugs or improve the game. Even if people don't test it this time around but are forced to pay, at least they are paying to support the game while they screw around in beta and don't do the things they agreed to do as a tester.

Weeks of content, but are they meaningful ones? Spending 4 hours on a story based adventure/shooter > spending 4 hours of repetitive grinding or screaming lfg to me.
Content to be added in the "future" is uncertain, not many people like paying for uncertainty.
Did I mention cashshop that you will have to pay more for proper progression? I guess I did.

I never thought that the Neverwinter series will expand to an MMO, I'm willing to try this out but I guess I will have to pass on this beta access. Its too much I guess, then again I will just wait for reviews from other players.
