Reputation: 490I am thinking about hopping back on and playing my level 40 Necromancer. Are necromancers worth playing in the RvRvR PvP? Any suggested builds?
Best MMO out on the market in the US in my book. Been playing it since September and have loved every second of it. Not a lot of other games have interested me as much as this one. The few weapon skills doesn't really bother me all that much. Though I used to love the feeling of acquiring a new skill in MMO's.
Reputation: 167Sweet! wish I had buds like that. No of one good person on OnRPG that helps me out from time to time. But eh... I am patient. Feb is near, I will be able to play this game soon...
I have read all the pros and cons. I am still convinced I am wanting to play this. Looking forward to seeing some of you in game.

Glass condi build.
Necromancers are one of the harder classes to play. Especially in tPVP, you will be the first targeted by everyone, you need to be very fast with your CCs for survival. That's why that build is a glass cannon condi build. To take out foes as fast as possible because everyone will punish you first even if you're not high DPS. No one likes condis. xD
You need to be fast, dodge well, and get in and get out. You want to be a back point holder, so you come up half way in the fight and drop your wells on point and all your staff marks on the floor. Watch people just get destroyed and turn for you, as you run away as fast as possible.
This is the attention grabber build. Dangerous to go in with low death shroud because that's your survival ability.
This build is great in 1 v 1s, but horrible for 1 v 1s if you're not very good with necros. I advice you grab some defensive traits till you get the hang of staying alive.

You can join my Minitroopers army!
Don't you dare quote me!
Don't you dare Rep me neither!
I don't want your petty influences upon my soul!
Reputation: 490That's along the lines of the build I was using when I was actively playing. I spent a lot of time in the rvrvr pvp (I guess called tPVP now?), rather than leveling e_e
Reputation: 482Overall, I'd say the game is worth a purchase since it's a B2P for like 25$ or less nowadays, but you really gotta find people to play with otherwise it gets boring (could be said about any MMO really though). I've been playing it pretty casual (though not so much since I just bought another console game recently) and have a level 72 Elementalist and 36 Mesmer and while I overall enjoy the game, there's a lot of stuff I have mixed feelings about, especially some of the stuff people were claiming was better in this game.
Try out the classes, learn all the weapon skills and once you find one you like, find a group of regulars and you'll have fun.
