Latest Era of MMO?

So i have noticed over the years of playing MMO's that they have "eras", periods where every company is releasing the same kind of game. We had an Anime MMORPG era, a 2D MMORPG era, a MOBA era with LoL, HoN, Smite and Dota 2 coming a bit late to the party

I'm curious what you think the era we're in now is and what the next era will be? Personally i think we're in the Action MMORPG era considering we've got games like: Blade and Soul, Tera, PSO2, Raiderz, Vindictus, Dragon Nest, C9... Probably a few more that i can't name off the top of my head...

As for the next era? I'm hoping for a Horror MMO genre era but due to the complications of merging both Horror and MMO together then this is incredibly unlikely but i remain optimistic. Realistically though, if The Elder Scrolls Online goes well then i expect we'll be seeing some MMORPG's like that

if you're talking about the so called "dynamic events" that were useless.. no.. DEER god no..

i think this has already been done with swtor. good game but don't have that addictive factor.

they tried it with dayz and warz and all :<

i really liked the idea too horror mmo =3=

but playing warz i ended up being more scared of the survivors than the zombies themselves ><
and dying became such a pain the arse coz you lose all that you've scavenged :<

true. i watched a raid in youtube where one players befriended a group and worked as a DPA to set that team for an ambush. in games like that, players are more dangerous than zombies.

warz has a safezone where you can access storage right? some players suggest that when you have scavenged quite a bit, its better to head to a safe zone and store everything except for a few items you might need so that if you die, at least you'll have a bit of resources left and not start from scratch.
