I was reading some articles on the net and I suddenly bumped into this article from Forbes.

It was an interesting read, but do you agree with the list?

It was an interesting read, but do you agree with the list?
I agree with some, not so much others. Mainly on ones like Wild Star, City of Steam, Dragon's Prophet, and somewhat Neverwinter. Not saying the list itself isn't good, it's just that in my opinion not all of them are really worth being hyped for.
Reputation: 228They just listed down all the MMOs with more exposure than others in recent weeks.
Just look at how Blade & Soul is missing from the list.
Man I could write for Forbes![]()
hmmmm yup why blade & soul is not one of them..?
it's like the most awaited game for like 2yrs now lol ~_~
Reputation: 490Somethings I agree with, but others I didn't. Is the writer from Australia or something? He mentions that bandwidth is a problem, but as far as I know, a majority of people in Europe/the US do not have limited bandwidth. Or at least not to the point where playing an MMO would be an issue. Perhaps he meant that download for the MMO, but even then it seems like a long shot.
not a single one of their recommendations has anything new.
every single one is a rehash of the same formula running for the past roughly 8 years, with new artwork.
the whole article is a clear example of selection by a brainless idiot with zero discernment.
to be a good mmo, you need something different that has lasting appeal.
for lasting appeal, i say you need something that continually stimulates exercises and stretches the mind.
flashy new artowrk, storyline and atmosphere just will not cut it.
here at mmohut, the experienced guys have called for something sandboxy.
minecraft is a good example. i say good pvp.
whatever it is, you need something that continually blows your mind.
not a single one of their rrecommendations continually does that.
utter failzor by forbes, but what do u expect when u consult a financial journalist for games??
Reputation: 52Actually cinderboy, it legit looks like he was either extremely biased or paid to do this.
And B&S isn't there, so I think this list is trash. (just as biased as he is.)
Edit: also looks like he copied and pasted off of the website. Only 2 things things there interest me, Black desert (it's about there with B&S for me) and archeage (Not really hyping but I acknowledge it's existence.)

for action type mmos where player location is very important (dodge, hit etc) it is not the bandwidth that counts as much as it is the ping for the connection between players and server. The bandwidth comes into play on the server side and the jump points inbetween (try having thousands of connections, each with several data packages each second and then tell me if the bandwidth is a problem.... remember that not only has the bandwidth increased over the years but also the amount of data that has to be exchanged between client and server).
Reputation: 27Man, people from Forbes are so wrapped up in Money, I'm pretty sure this article is biased or rigged.
Where is Otherland ?
Reputation: 52As a side note since I don't feel like making a thread
Black desert is schedule to be going Closed beta in july. I'll see if I can get the CB sign up, up for you guys.

Someone paid to write an article on a website dedicated to informing investors about potential portfolio assets? I don't know where such a silly idea would come from
@queenvoo Do you really think ArcheAge doesn't bring anything new to the industry? You're a tough critic to say the least.
And having seen the state of Bless at GStar I pray Neowiz has the sense to give it some more dev time and not even consider releasing it until 2014. Would be a waste of so much potential if they push it out early.

They don't tell you that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be buy to play on Vita, instead, they just say "Free to play." At least that's what I remember from rumors / talk.
Only plays Magic DPS Classes, Healers and Machinist/Engineers.
Playing MMO: FFXIV (Balmung)
Waiting On: FFXV, KH3, Tree of Savior, RE:FFVII · Saving For: New Computer
Blade and Soul isn't there most likely due to the fact that very little has been said about it lately.
Reputation: 482Isn't Otherland highly anticipated?
Kinda seems odd that wasn't mentioned considering the general response to it was that it looks to be kinda interesting and at least a breath of fresh air when it comes to the setting. Only like 2 games on that list don't have that medieval fantasy theme going that we've seen dozens of times and is starting to grow stale (or maybe that's just me).
