Rooted Androids

Has anyone here rooted their android? I am thinking about doing it. I am having an issue where some of the bigger games on the Google Play store give me a 498 error. I am wondering if rooting my phone will fix this issue. I've seen a few post on the internet that claim rooting my phone and then using ClockworkMod (their recovery tool or something like that to create a backup) will fix my issues with 498.

Anyone have input/tips?

Can rooting my device allow me to get past these 498 errors? I believe it has something to do with my phones cache being to small (the app I get the error for is over 40mb). Can rooting my phone give me the ability to increase/bypass this problem? Or is there a way for me to get past it without rooting?

Your best bet is to if you were to root your phone and flash a light-weight ROM, A-Developers.com is a great place to start.
I'd suggest reading up on rooting and the potential hazards before jumping in and doing anything.

I personally rooted all of my Android devices as I'm a serial flasher(in more ways then one).

There is no way to increase your cache, other than to buy a new phone.

Your best bet would be to move more apps to your SD card and hope it will install. If that doesn't work you're out of luck.

Go to settings> apps and then quit the apps that you aren't using and clear all the cache. Even when you close a app, it doesn't mean it's actually closed.

The other fix is backing up all your contacts and just throw it back into it's factory settings.

some games dont work on root. because of the programmer add root blockers in the games

Actually there is, within limits.

Basically you need to either modify your partition table manually, or you need to find a rom that does it for you in the setup-process.
If you have a device where small cache is a problem, you will probably find one that does that.

However; Why don't you start out by posting what phone you actually have?
