Default mass shut down mmorpg -.-

    i was reading this

Originally reported on by Steparu, Japan has seen a mass shutdown of many Free-to-Play MMOs scheduled for the upcoming months. Starting in late February and progressing through May, publishers in Japan will close over fifteen online titles including some well known MMORPGs such as Argo Online, Ecol Tactics, Concerto Gate, Corum Online, Prius, and Hellgate. While this doesn’t mean these same MMOs will also be closing in the west (that’s usually up to the region specific publisher to decide), it certainly isn’t a good sign. You can often get a sense of a foreign MMOs future in the West by looking at what’s happening to it in the East. Case in point, TERA Online began having issues and went F2P in the East long before those same events transpired in the West. Ecol Tactics only just recently launched its English closed beta which has me wondering whether the MMO’s time in the West will be short-lived. Steparu has included a nice timeline detailing when each game is set to close which you can check out here.

and i was omg was is going on in the mmorpg world
are there to many mmorpg so other mmorpg cant keep up and losing alot of players ??

    what you guys think ??

It really is time, at least financially, for many of these games to go. Let's face it, if you had 5000 different taco stands and only 10 have more than a few customers daily, those other 4990 will disappear.

    How is that social?

I don't notice that PSO2 has any social aspects that every other game doesnt have

I don't know any game that has friend as NPC system besides PSO/2. Also, using a person as an NPC gets them a special in-game currency too.

Only plays Magic DPS Classes, Healers and Machinist/Engineers.
    Playing MMO: FFXIV (Balmung)
Waiting On: FFXV, KH3, Tree of Savior, RE:FFVII · Saving For: New Computer

Speaking from experience on PSO, if you aren't socializing in it you are definitely doing something wrong.

Now they need to do this over on this side of the globe, i can go right now over to the mmohut mmorpg list, pick 3-4 different games, come back here and PROVE they have no differences other than graphics engine and or animation styles.

This has become a major issue, because you still have some games that have plenty of people paying for the cashshop but then you have 6 other ****in games right alongside it that offer no differences, this creates what i'm calling "a pool of useless shit."

When the hell will they finally realize that pushing out the same damn anime bullshit every other month is only TAKING AWAY PROFIT from their other more superior games? It's ridiculous and this ****in trend must end.

It seems a kind of "trend", yes. What I wonder is: do you stay in a MMO game just because you LIKE it or, after some years/months, you really know there are better ones, but you don't want to change just because you worked and maybe even shopped a lot to have the account you are managing?

Would have you stopped if you were steal playing the "Pacman's best match ever?" When you play a MMO for long time you feel like you are "building" something: that's what keeps you in it.

When you have a common platform for MMO or you have the same publisher, they should grant you a sort of "moving ticket" which will give you little benefits if you start another game, depending on your account's level, just like it happens to some Beta testers. That would make the market change more quickly, and it could even improve the quality of games... What do you think?

it's good the generic stuff are being weeded out. now if companies want to survive in the MMO market they will be forced to innovate.

bad thing is this will probably cause a brain drain for MMO devs, most will go to IOS/Android.

Great now if we can weed out ALL the shit games and get the shit publishers to move on to social or mobile games we'll be doing good. The MMO world only needs a few good titles not a ton of crap titles to bring the genre down.

I'm not much of a online gamer anymore. I did hear this rumor though on 4chan(yes 4chan). The companies that sell in game currency are in partnership with these games. I am not sure at what profit they get, but i'm sure it's something worthwhile. They can get rid of them if they really tried, but if you can't beat them than join them is the old saying

I did a little research and only found sources in chinese/japanese that I translated. This is how they run the industry. Suck it up as much as they can and move onto the next game. I could do more research, but who am I to judge?

That's pretty common knowledge, I mean it's something that is pretty noticeable if you've play enough online games or atleast enough free to play ones. Companies like that Ultimate Game Card one don't give two shits if a game they support dies out, especially since they still keep the profit and have hundreds of other games to sustain themselves.
