From the games I've actually played it would have to be Tera.

IMO Second Life because the engine has endless options. I've seen some really amazing combat systems used in the world, but even then, no one has yet to push to limits of what SL can actually accomplish. Pretty much anything and everything can be done in SL in the right hands.

Darkfall 1 hands down for me when it comes to action, and wow for tab target as much as people like to give wow shit i still enjoy arena's, there's also vindictus which is pretty enjoyable but incredibly repetitive after only a few hours of play.

Overall i don't think anything will ever top darkfall for me, oh the life of being a fanboy of a closed game, its pretty much ruined mmorpgs for me because i can't enjoy anything else.

PSO2 in terms of MMORPG combat. In comparison to Guild Wars 2 and TERA.

Otherwise, I like target-based like WoW, Grand Fantasia, Kitsu Saga, Eden Eternal, etc.

Only plays Magic DPS Classes, Healers and Machinist/Engineers.
    Playing MMO: FFXIV (Balmung)
Waiting On: FFXV, KH3, Tree of Savior, RE:FFVII · Saving For: New Computer

Guild Wars 2. For me, nothing else comes close. Not even Runescape classic with 3 round combat.

I'd say the Phantasy Star games and Mabinogi for me.

Im gonna so be sounding like Rya and his Ragnarok for saying this but..

    Im on Grand Chase..
I dont mind the simple controls and the limited skill buttons (actually before season 1 the attack + skill button is 'Z' ONLY --)
    Z (hold a bit) - 1st skill MP
    Z (hold) - 2nd skill MP
    z (the hold) - 3rd skill MP

What I really like about the combat is the feel of playing arcade (specifically guilty gear) game but with the twist of 'Skill delay'
Skill delay in a sense that you'd freeze (stahp / pause) if you use a skill both you and the opponent, also your on invu* statei. Clash of skills means not spamming of buttons but having the perfect timing of who will have the last hit. Up till now I wasnt able to find a game that have this mechanics.. or Im not looking hard enough.

    Mabinogi in my terms.

It has the most challenging combat system I've ever played, and I love a challenge.
Learning to master the combat system then taking on some of the later dungeons such as math made me feel like I actually accomplished something.
Not only that but on terms of progress it took me at least a year to see a real impact on how far I've gone, I like that gear isn't really the most dependable thing in the game, on a plus.
