Default dragons prophet, for those of you who have tried it.

Ok so I JUST started dragons prophet like 15 minutes ok.. And I dont know, the graphics are just pathetic! I mean really :/... I just want to quit asap.. This was the mmorpg I was looking forward to the most and the first impression I got is really dissapointing...

For those of you who have tried it/are playing it, what are you comments? and I havent really participated in closed beta before, but do graphics improve after CBT? Because the graphics are just REALLY bad.. I mean runes of magic, which is like i dont know 5 years old now, probably has better graphics.

    Graphics certainly won't improve (much).

If you play a game just for graphics just quit while you're ahead. But Dragon's Prophet isn't that bad, gameplay wise it just feels too pay to win for my tastes. No seriously, people like you are the reason why most newer games are all becoming shiny dogshit.

    Good graphics "shiny"
I was very turned off by it's graphics too I admit. So much that I didn't bother playing very much. The animations and combat felt relatively weird too, just like the interface.

The game looks dated, but much more importantly the animations are absolutely horrendous and as as result it takes a gameplay hit. It uses the same dated graphics engine as Runes of Magic. The devs have proven that they do not care about the product are only in it for the money. They have proven this by 1. Allowing Runes of Magic to become the most pay to win game on the market today, and 2. Spewing out another cheap mmo using minor variations on their previous engine to get some more dough from the worst kind of gamers.

I would not support this company.

True you dont need awesome graphics and gameplay is more important, but theres an "acceptable graphics level" below which it just seems weird...

^agreed. And the acceptable level has changed a great deal in the last year as a result of Guild Wars 2. Similarly, the acceptable level of what can be acquired through cash shop has changed for the same reason. Guild Wars 2 has in my opinion the best payment model out of any mmo on the market right now.

Path of Exile also has a very commendable cash shop. I anticipate that future games will have to adapt as people won't pay for nonsense given that they have these two wonderful games as options.

The environment textures are bad. But, a screenshot only tells half the story. I do not like the animations, characters move and behave robotically. It is just not fluid.

I do not like the artstyle, but artstyle is a matter of personal taste. They have chosen to adopt the immoderate artstyle of games such as Aion, Tera and most Perfect World published games. Some people are into that.

PoE doesn't have good graphics, but the game looks amazing because of its style and fluidity of animations and combat. RO1 doesn't have good graphics, but again, it is stylistically good looking.

Eventhough this is not a discussion about actual the backend gameplay, I will say that the theorycrafting elements in this game does not get me excited to play this game; especially in the same way that theorycrafting in PoE or Rift would get me excited.
